any folks here going to the Oslo Freedom Forum for the financial freedom track? I went to OFF back in 2013-2015, but way before Bitcoin was a theme. Met some awesome people

Bitcoin doesn't need POSITIVE rights policy. Bitcoin has NEGATIVE rights recognition. Bitcoin is code. Using computers, running nodes, batching transactions, signing with private and public keys doesn't need extra "rights". "freedom from" not "freedom to"

Another South Dakota “nomad” resident onboarded this week. IMHO, the best privacy-preserving residency program that caters to digital nomads, privacy folks, and expats Enshrined in SD law for RV people, but used by many more to be domiciled in a low-tax, full-freedom state that protects your privacy. Extreme Privacy (Bazzell) approved.

The United Arab Emirates, and Dubai specifically, are fascinating models of a meritocratic society. Free enterprise and risk-taking are championed. Immigration laws welcome anyone who can prove their worth (likely why 92% of residents are foreigners). That said, it’s not a democratic paradise or one that preaches liberal values outside the marketplace. The absence of a social safety net may worry people who come from Europe or North America, but for many younger millennials who lived in highly indebted countries with few opportunities, it’s intriguing. As a plus, it had a cosmopolitan flair that makes it more akin to 1900s Vienna, Paris of the 1920s, and Florence of the 1500s. image

I have a friend who used Celsius and withdrew a significant amount of BTC and stablecoins after I told him to stop trusting that custodial yield stuff. Apparently, as a result of the bankruptcy, there is a triggered portion of that settlement that anyone who had assets *90 days before bankruptcy* is now on the hook for paying back "higher level" creditors. Now, there seems to be a collective freakout among those who withdrew their stuff before Celsius ever went bust, but they'll still have to cough up some of it to pay back other creditors. Don't use these platforms! Self-custody only!

More and more, legislatures are abdicating their roles and courts have to rule on complicated technology matters. Will that make us better or worse off? Depends on your country
