The entire idea of “retirement” seems like a stupid fiat invention.
We wouldn’t even need a broad range of stupid investment vehicles to make money not evaporate before you’re sixty if the money wasn’t consistently debased through inflation and stolen through taxes.
I think what few people understand is that Bitcoin will soon melt faces off.

What are some estimates of just how much is devalued/taken through taxes and inflation?
Depending on your home state or country, I’m sure it’s around 40%? That’s my guess.
Here in NY tax alone is 30% which is just bonkers when you really think about it.
It’s unreal how much TikTok has obliterated the attention span of an entire generation.

And it’s easy to see why China would want to do this.
This weakens their enemies and shortens their own citizens time horizon, making them ready for a CBDC.
I always thought I needed to be wealthy in dollars to have free time and success.

It’s all a lie. This keeps people on the fiat treadmill, chasing something that’s fake and manipulated.

As I am learning more about Bitcoin self-custody…
I think about how grand a responsibly it is, to be totally responsible for all of your savings.
If I lose my Bitcoin it’s my fault and nobody will bail me out.

I think often people think that we buy Bitcoin to get more fiat.

Banks buy government bonds.
Governments bail out banks.
The result is inflation, which hurts the people.
And then this cycle goes on forever, is that an accurate summary?
This seems insane.
You don’t need to be have a masters degree in finance to understand that banks buy government bonds and then governments bail about the banks when they gamble all their money away.
Inflation is the result, the masses pay the bill.
And people accept this as normal.

Which illustrates such a fundamental understanding of what money is.
