I’m really interested in what other applications nostr can have outside the obvious flavors of traditional social media.
Some ideas:
- workout client (posting your run/climbing session/weights/whatever to share as a part of a community)
- review/recommendations client (I’ve got TV shows/films/books/podcasts all in different places and it sucks)
- locally (governmentally?) run read-only relays for public announcements (weather warnings/traffic announcements/bus gps/amber alerts)
- IRL loyalty programs

Every time I listen to Stephen Wolfram talk, I feel like he’s whispering the secrets of the universe and I’m too far away to fully lean in and listen. It’s infuriating and satisfying.

Busy weekend:
- climbing session
- picking up a couple Mother’s Day presents
- baking a cake with my son
- working on some Cookstr updates
How are you spending the weekend?

Granted I may be naive, but I can’t quite figure out why everyone has made such a big deal out of the mempool.
Sure, fees are high, but isn’t this process also subjected to supply/demand? When the price goes above what people are willing to spend, only those who “have to” take that deal are going to.
Why shouldn’t we assume that the desire not to spend so much in fees will drive the price lower once again? What am I missing?
Just in case the mempool has disheartened anyone else about topping up their Mullvad subscription, here’s a good LN->XMR suggestion. View quoted note →
