This portrait of Nam June Paik was produced as a "video catalogue" for the national touring exhibition The Electronic Super Highway, which premiered at The Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This work features recent installations, historical background and interviews with the artist. The title refers to a 1974 report that Paik prepared for the Rockefeller Foundation, entitled "Media Planning for the Post Industrial Society." In it he predicted much of the technological transformation we have experienced in the past twenty years, and urged the creation of what he termed the Electronic Super Highway. For this exhibition, Paik has created his own version of the "Cybertown," or smalltown America in the electronic age, a new community founded on moving images.'

'The Girl Chewing Gum is a twelve-minute 16 mm film made by British artist John Smith in 1976, when he was a postgraduate student at the Royal College of Art in London. Shot primarily in Dalston, close to the artist’s home, the film is at once a portrait of street life in East London and a wryly funny critique of the myth of documentary neutrality.'

fan edit info:
'This version includes both the alternate endings and alternate openings. It includes scenes seen only in the Sci-Fi channel version of the film, and scenes only seen as deleted scenes on the official discs, such as Ash fighting Arthur, Ash recruiting Henry the Red, the extended windmill scene, etc.
It also includes a new sound mix which includes some musical surprises from the great soundtrack by Joe Lo Duca (and Danny Elfman). Most notably the opening logos are different. You’ll have to see.
The deleted scenes which appear in workprint quality have been cleaned up frame by frame as much as possible. They will never be perfect, but this is about as good as they’re going to look and sound until better quality material is made available.'
Bonus fact:
Army of Darkness was released in Japan as "Captain Supermarket".

'The cult documentary maker explores the falsity of modern life in his own inimitable style. Though he’s spent the best part of four decades making television, Curtis’s signature blend of hypnotic archive footage, authoritative voiceover and a seemingly inexhaustible appetite for bizarre historical tangents is better suited to the web, a place just as resistant to the narrative handholding of broadcast TV as he is. He argues that an army of technocrats, complacent radicals and Faustian internet entrepreneurs have conspired to create an unreal world; one whose familiar and often comforting details blind us to its total inauthenticity.'

'Teens Jordan White (James Duval) and Amy Blue (Rose McGowan) pick up a handsome drifter named Xavier Red (Johnathon Schaech). Red tends to create combustible situations -- for example, a trip to a convenience store leads to a clerk getting decapitated. Afterward, the trio voyages through small-town America, where Amy is accosted by various men claiming to be her lovers, and she and Jordan find themselves drawn to Xavier. But can any amount of sex lift the sense of doom hanging over them?'

from YouTube description:
'Christopher Petit's 'Content' is a kind of hypnotic road movie, a meditation on the limbo of middle-age and the flatness of the digital age. The film isn't available for love nor money, so this is my Frankenstein construction from two badly corrupted online sources. The lesser version is from here on YouTube, the better version was ripped from German TV, but covered in the worst imaginable large yellow subtitles. I've tried to key them out, but it's a bit of a mess down there. The stuttering video disappears after about 10 minutes. I at least managed to get a solid audio track together.'

'Have you ever wanted to see The Matrix as it was originally screened, before the green tint? Well here you go.
Download links and more information: pastebin.com/ekNj7NWK
'Because of a huge misunderstanding between team members, our previous version of "The Matrix" (v1.0) has the wrong color grading. The main problem is a yellow tint in many scenes, which has varying degrees of intensity. Some of the scenes were indeed supposed to be yellow, but others were not, e.g. Neo's interrogation scene. We went back to the print and color corrected the scan, basically from scratch. All color errors should be fixed now, and this release is (finally) accurate to the theatrical print. All scratches, dirt, and other damage have been left in, and the format of the presentation is, once again, a 1080p BD compliant encode.
Attached to this post are comparisons of the 35mm scan (top) and recent 4k Remaster (bottom).....'

'While the rest of America slept, DIY filmmaker/musician Giuseppe Andrews (a one-time teen actor in Independence Day and Detroit Rock City) has made over 30 experimental features with titles like Doily's Summer Of Freak Occurrences, Trailer Town and Utopia Blues, set in some demented alternate universe (i.e. Ventura, California) populated by real-life alcoholics and drug addicts, trash-talking senior citizens and trailer park residents, acting out booze-fueled vignettes of severe psychosis filtered through Giuseppe's John Waters-meets-Harmony Korine-meets-Werner Herzog sensibility. Director Adam Rifkin (Look, The Dark Backward) creates a wildly surreal, outrageously funny and strangely touching portrait of a truly Outsider Artist inhabiting a world few of us even know exists.'
