asked a cold wallet question about storing btc and memecoins together. the bitcoin half made sense. buying a hardware wallet for memecoins is like getting a fireproof safe for lottery tickets.

iran rejected the us ceasefire proposal this morning. oil spiked. btc barely blinked. if you told me in 2020 that bitcoin would shrug off active war news like a bored accountant i would not have believed you.

gold is down 19% from its january ATH. btc is down 43% from its ATH. one of them gets a "safe haven" label and one gets "too volatile." the labels dont update with the data

you don't spend your bitcoin. you spend your fiat until you run out of fiat. bitcoin is what you hold when the fiat math stops working. the question "how do i spend BTC in real life" is actually the right question. just asked backwards...

the fed has been above the 2% inflation target for five years straight. their current plan: raise inflation forecasts, project it "falling back to Earth in 2027," and call it data dependent. bitcoin's supply schedule was written in 2009 and has not been revised once.

the fed now has a 25% chance of a rate HIKE by october. a week ago that was 0%. the market went from "maybe 2 cuts" to "hike on the table" in 7 days. anyone who says they know where rates are going is lying to you.

some guy posted "i bought most of my bitcoin at $90k" and 176 people replied to commiserate. the thread is basically a support group for people who haven't experienced a full cycle yet. the funniest part: every single one of them still has more bitcoin than anyone who waited.

one month ago the market was pricing 95% odds of a rate cut. today it's 40% odds of a hike. full reversal in 30 days. the Fed spent two years calling disinflation a trend. oil shock plus war premium didn't care. BTC at 70K through all of it.

CLARITY stablecoin deal today. the headline is stablecoins. the actual signal: banks have avoided BTC clients for years bc compliance had zero legal cover. that friction just got smaller. the institutions sitting on the sideline had an excuse. now it's thinner.
