favorite native nostr app for macOS?

Zeus said using Alby is custodial. I thought Albyhub is noncustodial? I obviously have a lot to learn, but after hearing so many people praise Lightning and Alby, I feel like it’s still not ready for the average user. I don’t mind self hosting and a little risk I do the wrong thing, but for most people it’ll be a pain. Messed up the mounts in pod man and when restarting my hub I opened a channel twice, $40 or so total, and can’t find any clear way to view the on-chain details. Will those channels close after inactivity? Does it go back to the on-chain Alby wallet? #alby #asknostr

well, lost a small amount of funds because I was switching from Podman-compose to using quadlets. not sure why/how, the data volumes were the same and my bitcoin node came up and synced, but Alby acted like it was a fresh install. used the recovery words, along with the backup tool, but not sure what I did wrong: Balances (sats): Spendable: 0; total: 0; reserved: 0 Pending from channel closures: 0 only had like $5 or so but I had to open a new channel again 😕 not sure what went wrong or why the recovery words/wallet backup didn't restore my balance. appreciate any advice

Before I deleted my Reddit account, I was feeling down pretty often. My subs were mostly doom and gloom and /r/all was the same. I’m trying to change careers late in life, and Reddit is filled with fresh grads saying that coding is DEAD, there is no future for comp sci or programming, AI is going to kill and enslave is all… I saw someone claim to be a senior at a FAANG company even say “most of the code has been written, there is no low-hanging fruit” and soon human programmers would be some uber-elite few. Maybe they’re right. I’m only on Nostr now, and I’m less stressed about the future. Ignorance is bliss, I guess, and all the doom and gloom from Reddit or twitter is out of my view for the most part. I have a lot to learn, like math which was a weak point for me, but I’m excited for the future. I’ve learned you can mostly learn anything, it’s just hard work. Proof of Work yields rewards. You have to expend the energy, you have to trade your time to do something hard that may seem pointless but is in the service of some higher purpose.

I can’t believe I ever gave Musk $8 when I could have been ZAPPING people the hardest money invented, DIRECTLY. Through a system of nodes and relays controlled by no single third party! In fact, I can run my own!

Do you think assets like stocks, bonds, etc will end up tokenized? If so, is it going to be on one chain, or many? Etherealize (eth's new marketing foundation) says "All roads lead to Ethereum". I know RGB, Taproot Assets, and others exist but I'm not too knowledgeable about the process. All the hype I see is about this stuff being built on Eth/SOL, and I don't understand why those people aren't taking advantage of what already exists in Bitcoin.

It's funny to me how after meeting with all the big-name Bitcoin miners and Bitcoin Magazine folks, Trump's own company (WLF) announces they are building businesses on Ethereum 😂
