Back in the day, I was the only one I knew in real life who had a Gmail address. (At the time you could only get one by invitation.)
I thought it was awesome.
Now, I might be the only one I know in real life who has chosen to de-Google altogether.
I think it is awesome.

I bought $100 of #Bitcoin using #Monero around three weeks ago.
That Bitcoin is $92 now, and the Monero is $106.
This is an ongoing comparison experiment to see how the value fluctuates.
I know such a narrow snapshot is not even close to being a fair indication that leads to an overall conclusion, but still.
With its built-in #privacy, I'm happy with being all in with Monero. The privacy is worth more to me than numbers, because I don't trust the direction of our increasingly technocratic, big-brother society.
Not that any crypto will save the world (that's Jesus' job), but having Monero can certainly be helpful with regard to privacy. The same can be said for encrypted messaging (e.g., #SimpleX, #Session, #Signal, #PGP, OMEMO, et al): not the solution, but helpful.
I've tipped at least 2 waitresses with #Monero.
It takes a little social courage to propose the idea, but it was fun. It was their first experience with crypto.
As I understood him, I don't think the CIA origin theory per se is his foremost concern.
He even said he likes the idea of Bitcoin.
His beef has to do with traceability and lack of privacy. That's where Bitcoin falls flat and gives rise to conspiracies.
It's why coins like Monero exist.

BTC and XMR are good tools, yes.
But don't let that take over your life. It will not make you happy, and you cannot take your secret keys to the grave.
Follow Christ -- the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
A friend messaged this to me over Signal. My best rapper name for this guy would be Shiddy-Scent.Here's what I wish Pope Leo would publish as an encyclical to be entitled "Mea Culpa":

My bad, brother bishops and all the faithful. I should have been clear right off the bat.
Catholicism is the one true religion. Christ is King. Don't be pagan. Please refer to the Roman Catechism.
Abortion? Always a hard no.
Don't be communist. Are you kidding me?
And stop with all the gay crap already -- or else!
That's it for now.
In Christ,
Pope Leo XIV

You can't change your gender; you can only change your clothes.
What people like to call "transgender" now is what we used to call "transvestite." I will say "tranny," but will never say "transgender," even if such a person chooses to be surgically mutilated.
Don't accept the premises of the Enemy's twisted vocabulary. Speak truth.
Worshiping the crotch god leads to all manner of evil.
This idolatry leads to personality disorders, broken families, and murder.
It's the fast track to hell.
I've been impressed with the nostr client Jumble.social. Good work!

True story:
I once played basketball with a learning-disabled teen who literally could not tell the difference between left and right, which was a problem for executing our plays.
I did not make fun of him, but tried to help.
I said to hold out his hands and see which one formed an "L" with his thumb. That's the Left hand. He was happy.
But the very next time he tried it on our end of the court, he held out his hands palms-up! ๐
My wife and I are taking a FREE, 11-week online course on the Book of Revelation. It begins today. Anyone is welcome to join. Sign up if you wish. It ends just before Advent begins. Great timing.
At least check out the schedule and syllabus. It should be good.

When your #Bitcoin is traced and tracked and taxed by the government, you are screwed.
If you must use Bitcoin, use it discreetly. No ID attached. No KYC.
Better yet, just use..you-know-what.

Anytime I see an argument here between a #Monero dude and a #Bitcoin dude, I see the same pattern:
Monero dude values freedom that springs from privacy and avoidance of government overreach.
Bitcoin dude values freedom that comes from getting rich, also desiring government overreach.
Both are unsatisfied with the fiat system.
But what is this "freedom" we're trying to achieve or protect? How do we define it?
Am I the only one who doesn't understand how to use the Amber phone app for signing into Nostr web apps?
I wish there was a simple video on how to use it.
