I'm having a bit too much fun with the hate against the Monero gang. The not-so-funny thing is that the Bitcoin gang starts to sound a bit like any government. "Use our money, otherwise you're xyz." Not understanding that some people have legitimate concerns, and not wanting to listen, is exactly what a government does.
Bitcoin being the only currency on this planet would be quite dangerous, and shit hits the fan when people start to believe their own propaganda. In my view, the #monero gang is a plus for Nostr's development too. Peace!โ๏ธ

I'm your everyday immigrant blue-collar, and pretty much every stereotype applies. I don't code, and I don't even have a computer.

As you can see, I got 2 zaps, 1 Sat each. ๐
Here's the #Monero side of the coin. (Bad pun, I know!) Two tips, the equivalent of 663 & 1311 Sats. 2 Sats Vs 1974 Sats. Guess which buys me a beer. ๐คท
(Those 2 Sats might change to 3 or more, but it's true when I write this.)

#xmr #moneroSince I'm the normies' spokedude, I have to get a bit in Monero's defence.
Being a random mofo who has other things on his plate instead of being a cyberpunk and whatever these days, when the whole ecosystem surrounding Bitcoin feels a bit shaky, to say the least, I see Monero as a safety net for payments (eg: VPN). I don't feel very confident in LN right now, and I do it for my inner peace. I don't deny Bitcoin's future, I just offer context. If you're being a dick for people being cautious, you start to sound like the government. My #xmr is not anyone's issue. โ๏ธ
That would be a very challenging wank. ๐คฃ

I almost forgot... If you're big into cooking but also into Star Trek, you might care about the latest surprise from Le Creuset. ๐

From a normie's account point of view, my experience is better with Monero, likely because I don't have those outlier zaps for 5000 Sats. Hell, every zap over 100 Sats is an outlier for me. ๐ And if I exclude my two "online friends", even 42 Sats is an exception. On average, I received almost 110 Sats/day, and the equivalent to roughly 3500 Sats in #xmr.
And to those who blame people who want zaps:
I'm talking about a side account dedicated to art. I take pictures daily, and it costs $18 to host those pictures for a year on a server, without using bots or anything, and without spamming people with likes just to be noticed. I openly stated that I want to run this experiment to find out if Nostr is worth the effort, so it's not complaining or anything. More recently, I decided to continue the experiment by adding Monero instead of killing the account, and only then did the Monero gang make it plausible, while making a friend.
I am convinced that retention will increase by diversifying the range of topics, and I'm doing my part. Besides the art account ( @Poseidon ), I also have one about classical music ( @Classical Music )and one about trains ( @Trainstr ). Is it worth the effort? Absolutely not. But since I'm not a dev, I help however I can because I believe in Nostr's role.

I spent half a day with my wife. We trash-talked, made plans, had coffee, and other feel-good things. That being said, here are a few pictures from my city.

I heard somewhere that lonely people only need 8 minutes from a friend, in shitty moments, to feel like they're not alone and get over that specific moment. I gave it quite some thought and it feels true. ๐คท Maybe it is that simple, at least in most cases. Give someone 8 minutes from your time.
I tried to read some news but I quickly got to "fuck this shit". I don't know, seeing people ass licking any politician while hating on another makes me sick. Pretty much like a straight dude telling me why he loves to take it from behind instead of the other way around. I hate to break it to you but you're not straight. I ended up looking for train tickets. Life is short.
From all the dicks who told me that 21 Sats are more than any amount of XMR, nobody chose to tip me #monero yet. Or even the Sats. ๐
In case you need some GenX motivation

Morning coffees on a bench are underrated. Peace and quiet.

It keeps bothering me a pre 2008 & pre 2019 feeling that I can't shake. Anon, look at your bucket list and give it a try. Travel somewhere, stop worrying about your underwater Bitcoin, tell someone that they're extraordinary, sing your favourite song like you finished the fucks to give. Life's changing fast and brutal, and we end up bound by regrets.
Good night!
46 days later, my side account dedicated to everyday art finally accumulated 5000 Sats! Most of the Sats are from two nostriches who support me whatever I do, so the reality might be quite tragic for niche accounts. I didn't include here the #monero gang, who tipped about 30 times more in just two weeks, so you might just be the reason I'm not abandoning this account. Or maybe I should just delete its LN address and see what happens with it if it's exclusively Monero. ๐คท

In the end, it seems that we don't need an algorithm to be enraged. ๐
Because today I have two years of Nostr, it's the perfect moment to promote myself a bit more. I have three additional npubs that some of you might care about:
A classical music one (decent, tho now I'm on holiday and I'm hallucinating a little bit):
@Classical Music
A trainspotting npub that should definitely be better:
@Trainstr
The last addition, initiated yesterday, art-related (should be good, but you can't see it from Primal):
