I’ve been avoiding working on the actual fundamental feature of this app: being able to capture audio streams from all running apps, process the audio streams, then output the audio as a single output by using a virtual audio driver. The reason why I’ve been avoiding working on this is because it’s the hardest part of building this application. I’m looking at how other apps are doing it, like SoundFlower, BlackHole, and EqMac. Seems very complicated, at least for someone inexperienced like me. #dev #swift View quoted note β†’
Bought another Apple HomePod and some Philips Hue stuff. Still waiting for the Hue light bulbs to arrive. My idea is to buy an LG C3 42" to use as a monitor for my Mac and then have a HomePod on each side of the monitor/TV. Something I'm a bit worried about is text clarity. I currently own an Alienware ultrawide 1440p, but text clarity is too bad, so I never use it for coding. From the YouTube videos I've watched, it seems like text clarity is quite good on the LG. image View quoted note β†’
I find it strange that you can’t swipe up on the #Damus app to refresh the timeline and profile page like you can on any other social media platform.
Cancelled my X (Twitter) subscription and now subscribing to #Damus Purple. Hope #Primal will introduce something similar. image
Done some more progress on my Mac application. Now, the state of the SwiftUI sliders is successfully saved. Which means, even when quitting the app (CMD + Q), and reopening the app, it will remember where all the sliders were positioned. This means, the sliders no longer reset after switching view or quitting the app. This is currently only working for the app-specific sliders, not the master volume β€” that is the next thing I will work on. For anyone interested, I ended up using UserDefaults (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/foundation/userdefaults). #swift #swiftui #mac #apple #dev View quoted note β†’
I'm making myself learn Swift. It feels a bit silly learning something just for Apple stuff, but I wanna build a Mac app, so skipping Swift isn't really possible. At least, not when you're building something that requires low-level access. Otherwise, I could just have used Flutter or similar.
Posted from OpenVibe app (formerly Plebstr). Overall, the UI looks good. Sad that it's not open source. Hopefully in the future 🀞
The reason why I'm bullish on #Monero is because of the strong community behind it. Privacy is an endless battle, which means Monero will need to keep evolving in order to stay up to date with cutting-edge privacy features.
