The reason why I'm bullish on #Monero is because of the strong community behind it.
Privacy is an endless battle, which means Monero will need to keep evolving in order to stay up to date with cutting-edge privacy features.

"Monero processed 26.1% of the transaction volume done on Bitcoin yesterday"
26.1% is actually crazy to me. It’s good to see #Monero being so active after being delisted from centralized exchanges.

All five sewing machines are now sold. It took a little longer than I had hoped, but I’m impressed by how quickly customers are ready to buy after only trying the sewing machine for a brief period — usually only about 30 seconds to 2 minutes. View quoted note →
Frigate is available on Umbrel! It may have been available for a while, but I've only just noticed.
It will be perfect for a home surveillance setup.
I tried PhotoPrism on Umbrel but didn’t like it very much. It’s fine, but after trying Immich, I’ve decided to switch. View quoted note →
Fuck Google Photos!
Switching to #Immich on my #Umbrel server.
Just tried using #Snapdrop on my #Umbrel server. Works really well.

Google Gemini sucks at debugging...
I guess I'll go back to ChatGPT again.
I have to admit, Farcaster looks pretty cool on the surface. But then you find out the big clients are closed-source...
The biggest Farcaster client is Warpcast. It's developed by the same company that made Farcaster.
Here's the problem with it not being open-source: They can technically kick you off the entire client, and since the code is not open-source, you cannot clone the project and make your own instance of it. This can be done with Nostr clients since they are all open-source (I am not aware of any Nostr client that is closed-source?).
Also, I am pretty sure Warpcast controls the feed shown to users. On Nostr, you can choose your own relays, but this is apparently not possible on Warpcast.
I think Nostr is the future!
#Nostr #Farcaster
Lesson learned: Never use a cloud-based security camera.
Use POE cameras, and set up your own system with an NVR. Don't depend on a company providing a cloud service — you can't trust them!

Nootti is a cool app!
It allows you to do cross posting to Nostr, Mastodon, and Bluesky all at once.

Absolutely insane!

Typical Apple...
Instead of completely removing the capability, why not give users a choice? Let the user decide whether they're willing to take the risk. This could be a simple toggle in the settings.
