These are the “tools of liberty.” Learn to use them, it’s your civic duty. Keep your powder dry and your hatchet sharp. Invest in training. #gunstr #training #2A #liberty #America #thisistheway
Applying proper grip to a pistol will exponentially improve your ability as a shooter in a fight. If trigger press is “king” in fundamentals, grip is most certainly “queen.” I see the most issues with grip when students train with me. In this video the student does not provide a high enough purchase on the back strap. The result is an unnecessarily violent recoil impulse that will prevent her from seeing the sight sooner in a predictable motion. After she was corrected on proper hand placement it helped, but didn’t cure it completely. The one thing she continued to miss, even after this correction, is the proper application of leverage on the pistol. Proper hand placement is half the equation, leverage is the rest of it. Although grip is not needed for accuracy (that’s all sight picture and trigger press), it is necessary to be repeatedly accurate, which translates directly to fighting with a gun. I routinely try to run the Modern Samurai Project Black Belt Standards “cold,” to start my range practice. One of these days I’ll get it. Cold start drills are more than a fad on the internet. They can be a critical tool for gauging the work you have done during the week dry firing. A good rule of thumb is that for every live round you fire on the range, you should have fired three “dry rounds” during the week. Like anything else, consistency is the key. Try doing 5 min of dry fire a day. Get after it y’all! #liberty
