The Irish Elk is the largest species of deer to ever exist, standing at 7ft at the shoulder with its antlers being 11ft across. Bones have been carbon dated showing the animal went extinct a mere 8,000 years ago. image
"I like to experience the universe as one harmonious whole. Every cell has life. Matter, too, has life; it is energy solidified. Our bodies are like prisons, and I look forward to be free, but I don't speculate on what will happen to me. I live here now, and my responsibility is in this world now." ~ Albert Einstein Source: "Einstein and the poet" (Book by William Hermanns, p. 64) image
Choose wisely, not only for you but also for your child. Later in marriage when you hit parenthood, you'll realize what you really wish for in your spouse is not big money or 'six-pack'. A pretty face and a good bank account are nice to have but at the end of the day, there's so much more you should be looking for. At 3am when your child is crying, and your eyes are heavy and your body is weak for postpartum, it will not be how he looks or what he owns that will matter. It'll be the compassion in his heart and the love for you in his soul that push him out of the bed to attend the child immediately and tell you, "Go back to sleep, love. I got this." If I could tell the younger people what to consider in a companion, I would say marry the man who will be the best father for your children. The man who will put you and your little family first, above all else. The man who is as responsible as you are in raising family because you both are in it together. In short, marry the person who will set a standard for a spouse in your children. Because in all of these, whenever you watch your partner with your child, you'll find yourself falling in love all over again. Choose wisely, not only for you but also for your child. image

”The famous Italian diver Enzo Maiorca dove into the sea of Syracuse and was talking to his daughter Rossana who was aboard the boat. Ready to go in, he felt something slightly hit his back. He turned and saw a dolphin. Then he realized that the dolphin did not want to play but to express something. The animal dove and Enzo followed. At a depth of about 12 meters, trapped in an abandoned net, there was another dolphin. Enzo quickly asked his daughter to grab the diving knives. Soon, the two of them managed to free the dolphin, which, at the end of the ordeal, emerged, issued an "almost human cry" (describes Enzo). (A dolphin can stay under water for up to 10 minutes, then it drowns.) The released dolphin was helped to the surface by Enzo, Rosana and the other dolphin. That’s when the surprise came: she was pregnant! The male circled them, and then stopped in front of Enzo, touched his cheek (like a kiss), in a gesture of gratitude and then they both swam off. Enzo Maiorca ended his speech by saying: “Until man learns to respect and speak to the animal world, he can never know his true role on Earth." ~ Vangelis.” image

Is it a myth that Queen Anne Boleyn was executed by a Frenchman because no Englishman could be found to do the job? The chosen man was brought specially from Saint-Omer because he was a skilled swordsman. He was hired by Thomas Cromwell, who had contacts and allies all over the continent. It was not so much a question of whether no Englishman was up to the task as of bringing in an expert known for getting things right the first time, so to speak. Executing a nobleman (or anyone else) with a sword was a delicate task and not easy. Even with a large, heavy axe, it was not guaranteed. Henry had previously commuted Anne's sentence of death by burning to beheading. Anne was kneeling, as is French tradition, and blindfolded, so she would not have seen the sword coming and probably would not have felt anything. Ndt: Anne had asked to be executed in the French way, by the sword and not by the English axe and by an experienced French executioner who arrived from Calais or Saint Omer. We have no trace today of this executioner, we have absolutely no idea who he was. He certainly arrived from the port of Calais where he had embarked, but that does not mean that he was an executioner from the town of Calais or Saint Omer as has often been mentioned. image
👵Written by a 90 year old!!❤️ 🤙42 lessons life taught me 💖 It is something we should all read at least once a week! Make sure you read to the end! Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland, Ohio. "To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 42 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more: 1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good. 2. When in doubt, just take the next small step. 3. Life is too short – enjoy it.. 4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will. 5. Pay off your credit cards every month. 6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself. 7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone. 8. Save for retirement starting with your first pay check. 9. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile. 10. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present. 11. It's OK to let your children see you cry. 12. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about. 13. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it... 14 Take a deep breath. It calms the mind. 15. Get rid of anything that isn't useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways. 16. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger. 17. It's never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else. 18. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer. 19. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special. 20. Over prepare, then go with the flow. 21. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.💖 22. The most important sex organ is the brain. 23. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. 24. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?' 25. Always choose life. 26. Forgive but don’t forget. 27. What other people think of you is none of your business. 28. Time heals almost everything. Give time time. 29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change. 30. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.. 31. Believe in miracles. 32. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now. 33. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young. 34. Your children get only one childhood. 35. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved. 36. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere. (I love this one) 37. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back. 38. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have not what you need. 39. The best is yet to come... 40. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up. 41. Yield. 42. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift. image
Britain’s Oldest Bed: A Glimpse into the Elizabethan Era 😲😲 Britain’s oldest bed, a resilient oak four-poster, has withstood the passage of time since the Elizabethan period. This remarkable piece of history is the sole surviving piece of furniture from Salford's Ordsall Hall, originally crafted in the 1570s for Sir John Radclyffe and Lady Anne Asshawe. The bed mysteriously vanished around 1650 during a change in ownership at the Hall, and for nearly 300 years, its whereabouts were unknown. It eventually resurfaced in the home of a resident in Whalley Range, Manchester, though how it ended up there remains a mystery. In the mid-20th century, it was sold in pieces to settle the owner's death duties. In 1968, the bed’s fate changed when Dr. Chris Douglas, a dedicated collector of medieval and Tudor furniture, meticulously restored it to its original grandeur. Today, it stands as a testament to Britain’s rich history, having survived centuries of change and intrigue. See more in the comments 👇👇 image

I choose to remember you Not by how you hurt me But by how you taught me to heal Not by how you left me But by how you taught me to never abandon myself Not by how you broke me But by how you taught me to rebuild myself Not by how you dimmed my light But by how you helped me to shine Not by how you kept me trapped in a place of comfort But by how you empowered me to leave my comfort zone Not by how you left me feeling weak But by how you taught me what it means to be strong Not by how you tried to control me But by how you taught me to be free Not by who you told me who I was But by how you taught me to define myself And above all I choose to remember you Not by how you were unable to love me But by how you taught me To love myself. ✓🪭The ancient Japanese tradition of "ebai". It appeared in the second half of the century. At night, a man can sneak into the room of an unmarried girl he likes and invite her to enter into an intimate relationship. It was a type of matchmaking that, when a "consensus" was reached, could develop into a long-term relationship or even into an official marriage. A girl can either accept or reject an offer. In case of failure, the overnight guest also had to quietly leave on the way to someone else's house. Yes, one caveat is that in order for the object of lust and his parents not to confuse the son-in-law with a thief and accidentally cut him down with a sword, men go completely naked. This clearly indicated the intentions of the night visitor and sometimes gave him a much-needed excuse. The girls' parents were supportive of this tradition and even deliberately left the doors of the house unlocked and the dogs tied. Note, and the guy was appropriately called "damn it")🇯🇵 image
Whoever tries to help a butterfly come out of its cocoon, kills it. Whoever attempts to help a bud emerge from the seed, destroys it. Whoever tries to awaken consciousness in someone who is not ready, confuses him. "There are certain things that cannot be helped, they must happen from the inside out." ... ~Art: unknown image
"And in the end, I believe that we don't need to do anything to be loved. We spend our lives trying to seem prettier, smarter. But I realized two things. Those who love us see us with their hearts and attribute qualities to us beyond those we really have. And those who don't want to love us will never be satisfied with all our efforts. Yes, I really believe that it is important to leave our imperfections alone. They are precious to understand those who see us with the heart. " Frida Kahlo 💫 image
