The reason I am committed to preserving information using metal products like rings is to point out humanity's lack of long-term time preference. People are preoccupied with present pleasures and short-term plans, missing the vision of what truly must be preserved and what kind of world should be passed on to the next generation.
At the same time, they are constantly concerned with protecting their own assets. But what a tragedy! The assets they are so carefully guarding are destined to be lost with their death. And that is a future that is absolutely certain.
Our traces become worthless and meaningless through death. So what, then, should we preserve for a hundred years, a thousand years, or even ten thousand years into the future?
