spotted relaxing on a Greek island...
Power law Prediction
Seductive...
The siren song of certainty,
That we are finally
Masters of the future
And slayers of humility's constant work.
Turning and tweaking the knobs
Looking back with crystal clarity
The mind balking at the unanswerable question,
As we shine the imaginary glow of our final understanding
Into the farthest edges of a world whose masters are not yet born.
I'm speaking to some game rangers and conservationists soon. I'm needing some references to help explore some ways that bitcoin facilitates and improves this domain. I've got some ideas. love Allen Farrington and Sacha Meyers work, need a few more pointers.
Gracias nostr.
I asked one of my readers for a review. Amazon won't let him post because he hasn't spent enough money. Tbh it really touched me and made it feel really worthwhile. I'm posting here first....
"Nell’s pacy, thoughtful romp imagines the disappearance of Satoshi Nakamoto (a pseudonym), the presumed philanthropist-genius developer of Bitcoin. Bitcoin – the tech which promises a marriage of innocence and money, a mode of lucre impervious to human stupidity. Nell’s instructive take on this ignorance is made real through his characters, some of whom will disrupt your habit of sleeping when it’s dark. Their crime in a nutshell: the co-option of money by evil. And Satoshi’s cash, seemingly immune to such co-option, has justifiably rattled men in suits. In counterpoint to his take-down of money, Nell riffs rarefied on Bitcoin as an attractor of goodness-writ-large, and perhaps even consciousness itself. The attractor draws the good guys too, and as they are elevated by Satoshi’s quiet authority and presence, they risk more-and-more to midwife the still-vulnerable technology. Nell’s take on the world’s ills, their rootedness in the corruptibility of money, and the power of tech to circumvent this flaw is a heady cocktail, as is his quirky turn of phrase. He weaves some big philosophy into the action, and some strong, relatable characters who find love, courage and clarity as Bitcoin motivates and moves their being. By the end you’ll think differently about the world, about money, and perhaps about Jiu-Jitsu and cryptography. And you’ll hope, hugely, that Satoshi is okay, wherever he may be."
The Nakamoto Consensus.
Nostr anthem
I am not grist for your mill.
I am not a cog to be turned.
I am not your second class masked down and cowed.
I am not the product of your empire fantasies.
I am not your eyeballs for hire.
I am not the mouth for your slick trash slush.
I am not your treadmill jogger.
I am not your drugged up, dumbed down and sanitized body.
I am not your arm to be jabbed.
I am not yours to command.
Don't count me in.
I'm opting out.
it feels like a little bit of an inflection point underway on nostr. interesting. Exciting as fuck
"You don't change Bitcoin. Bitcoin changes you."
I have felt this firsthand, being pulled and pushed, bullied by Bitcoin. Stepping up. Speaking up. It's a small fractal of the hero's journey, playing out day by day.
Changing long held patterns and habits that dont really serve me...
What is the hero's journey if not holding yourself to the fire of your discomfort and growing from that?
Bitcoin offers a field of value and purpose acquisition that is
-individual
-emergent
-engaged
-enhanced.
Feel it for yourself...
The Nakamoto Consensu
GM
Grateful to have met Hermann and Luthando of Bitcoin Ekasi fame yesterday. Humbled and inspired.
Protest
A jumble of mismatched words stretched across a bony face.
Too tight and brittle,
Cracking to release the inner light
And inner flood...
Of heat and breath and gasp.
To grin again....
And grit against the grind
Of teeth and jaw and face and heart.
In rough revolt against the paltry sinners who would have us cowed and masked and meek and sorrowful.
Mourning, in unrecognized anguish,
The dear freedom and precious chance
That was so cheaply sold.
Given over to the mean and fearful gods of little and less...
Instead of all or nothing.
While in the reflections of our tear filled eyes,
The conflagration roars
And mankind's promise crisps to ash.
And what can we stack against
Such weighty sorrow?
Nothing more than the fleeting choices,
Freely made.
By one.
Then one more.
Then a flood...
Of men and women standing strong.
Or striding forth in equal and appropriate measure.
Nothing more than a growing army
Of wilful fools and willing jokers.
Who would laugh and dance and wrest the kernel from the fire.
Choosing meme and martyrdom over staid and rapacious normality.
Nothing more than a slowly waking hive mind swarm
Of realization and righteous anger.
Nothing more than a grass roots
Ground swell
Root fed
Upwelling of deep and dedicated believers.
The Hodl army.
Massed and massive....
To gainsay the soulless corrupting rot of decay gripping the world.
Feeling pensive tonight. maybe it's the wine. Maybe the in-between...in between two drives.
Btc blues
I got that perpetual open interest man.
I got that negative funding rate blues.
I got those bottomless market jitters;
That falling knife sweat.
I got those freak charting eyes, man.
And that red candle butterfly.
My hands are clammy from holding on....
I got that China ban glaze.
The ESG got me good.
I got that energy FUD man.
And a FED shock, rate hike expectation.
Gonna do me the only thing I can, man.
And grab me a can of cool-as-shaved-ice HODL.
