**About Brisbane BitDevs**:
For everybody interested in the development of Bitcoin and the technical, economic and philosophical implications of it...
eCash is Bitcoin’s Layer3
We use the analogies of layers from the physical realm to help frame the concepts of separation in software - coupling and cohesion and function
There are lots of ways to then define such layer boundaries:
- trust models
- exit capabilities
- dependence on “lower” layers
Pointless getting sucked into ragewars on those definitions because the entire point of analogies is to assist understanding increasing complexity and separation of function
eCash requires Layer2 ⚡️to achieve interoperability; it has different trust assumptions to ⚡️; it offers additional benefits
Focus on functionality and trade-offs
