Been doing a lot more Git juggling lately. It's really made my work a joy. Fixed a thing on feature/xxx? Merge it to main. Continuing work in feature/yyy ? Merge main into it and carry on. I know this is trivial shit to any dev, but I'm not a dev, I'm devops. I just happen to be building things.

Been thinking on the problem of Claude Code forgetting rules. All 'solutions' seem to hinge on getting the model to restate the rules before every response. I wonder if we can avoid wasting tokens, but get the same result, by telling the AI to count the rules and tell me how many there are before each response. We still might have to adapt our prompts to ask for a count alongside every request, rather than just requiring the count in the rules themselves where it might get forgotten, but it'll still reduce token usage over requiring restatement, and might just cause the model to take notice of the rules just as well. Anthropic really need to give us a "fuck the token count, read all rules again before every response" button, though.

Just spent five minutes exploring the 9.9 vs. 9.11 problem with Claude, telling it that it was wrong, before realising that 9.9 is actually greater than 9.11. At least it insisted - correctly - that it was right, rather than preserving my feelings. I am a bad LLM.
