Dentist: *there’s a bit of motion in your CT.* Me: *well, let’s do it again then.* D: *oh, you don’t mind the radiation?* M: *it’s no worse than a flight.* D: *oh, thank god for you.*

My Instagram reels are animals doing animal junk, 90s dance, and Rube Goldberg machines. Okay, Instagram, you win this round.

I haven’t really talked about this because it’s Deep Fears stuff. I’ve gone through life with an increasingly failing body, and been able to handle it, because my brain’s okay. No matter how bad it got, my brain was there. So of course I develop MS, turning that brain, the last vestige I could hold onto, into scar tissue more and more each day. Of course I do.

Set up some throwaways and signed up for Turth Social. It is awful, no surprise there, but what DID surprise me was the sheer degree to which it's all memes. Like, literally all memes, all the time. They're consuming brainrot, only to post their own brainrot, and round and round it goes.

The one thing that all the MPs behind the proposed PIP cuts are unable to respond to is this simple fact: PIP is not an out of work benefit. PIP is a payment to assist with the financial costs of simply being disabled. PIP allows disabled people to work. They have no answer.

I was always a little suspicious of how widespread the “we must back Israel because the Bible” viewpoint was. Recent events have proved me utterly and completely wrong. It’s a major factor in the religious Right, which is in turn proving itself a major political bloc. And it’s unassailable.

Giving Perplexity's paid tier (20 USD / mo) a try, and I'm really happy with it. - Focus on search and research as the product, instead of just a feature - Unlimited 'research' requests Proving great for answering questions, if you're willing to give it ~10min to pull a research request together.

The fun part of having a the "dave" username on GitLab is that all kinds of people grant you access to their stuff by mistake. image

Your Learn You A Thing for the day: in `mermaid` syntax, which you should definitely learn because it's a really, really easy and quick way to generate diagrams, you can indent arbitrarily. This makes a flow chart so much more readable in text format. You're welcome.

Turns out that `[seven digit number].xyz` is truly comically cheap if you need a testing domain. image
