⏱️ Do you also feel like time is speeding up the older you get? The concept is called "inflation of time" and I started thinking about it as I was comparing time and money as currencies. The brain measures life in moments, not minutes. When days look the same, the brain stops recording detail. Less novelty → fewer memories → time feels shorter. • Childhood felt endless • Routine years vanish • Busy lives feel strangely empty In one way we all realize, objective time doesn’t move faster. But it is subjective time, that really counts in the end. And since your lived time is your only reference to keep track of this strange concept, it makes sense that as a child you count years, but somewhere down the line it becomes decades and if human lifespans were longer we would count our centuries. Time inflates when: • You live on autopilot • You repeat the same days • You scroll instead of create • You avoid discomfort and growth That’s why I luv a good challenge to slow down time. That’s why fear, learning, travel, risk and deep focus stretch life open. If you want to feel alive again: • Do something uncomfortable • Break routines on purpose • Build instead of consume • Choose depth over distraction Want time to slow down? Change patterns. Seek novelty. Be present in the moment. It isn't time that's becoming scarce, it's attention? 🌀
