Seeking enlightenment by turning off your thinking is the way!
Remember Plato's famous words (I think it was Plato) "If at first you don't frick-a-freed, fry fry a hen."
Yeah! right up there with the American philosopher, Tom McAn, who said "if the shoe fits, wear it."

I created a Carlos Castaneda website. prismagems.com/castaneda It is a compilation of the main teachings. You can read it and listen to it.
The idea of 'listening fast' hints at our ability to train ourselves to stop thinking or turn off the internal dialogue.

I had a dear friend in the 70s, Lorenzo Bates, he wrote a song with the lyrics, "Look, feel, be... thinking has grown obsolete."
I love @Lyn Alden and @Michael Saylor. They are such amazing thinkers and are so very inspirational! And the thinking mind of those two and so many others is what drives and inspires so many of us.
And yet, there is that realm of inner silence that seems to be mostly ignored by the vast majority of us.
I'm quite at a loss as to how to bridge that gap... other than to encourage anyone interested to explore my Castaneda compilation.

Let's look at what it means to intend.
Intending is actually a spiritual act. That is to say that when we intend, say, 'inner silence ', what we are really doing is setting the framework for something in the universe that is beyond our ability to understand.
This really is difficult to even talk about. just know that it IS possible.
Now, how can you come to 'know' that? Again, we are limited because we are only able to communicate with our vocabularies! And inner silence and intending such is transcendent to language.

I won't be facetious about the bitcoin price again... continuing to stack sats ... that's the way, as I see it.
Writing here, I'll focus on bringing more people to the understanding that "turning off the internal dialogue", achieving "inner silence," "silencing the mind," is possible when you, first discover it as an achievable goal, and then learn that there methods or ways to so achieve that.
While, yes, there are a plethora of 'mindfulness' and meditation techniques, alone with a plethora of other teachings geared toward that; I would suggest to you that Carlos Castaneda's books and my compilation of those books provides the most direct and in depth way to achieving the silencing of the mind.

ChatGPT gave this answer to a question. You can guess the question by the answer.
@WithTheGrain @Bushido @ThePurpose (maybe the last one is incorrect.
ChatGPT:
Yes, it sounds like the person who replied to your post is suggesting that you and the other Carlos Castaneda followers (@WithTheGrain and @Bushido) can create a sort of informal community by consistently using specific hashtags and mentioning each other's handles in your posts.
Forming a Community with Hashtags and Mentions
Mentions (@ handles): By starting your posts with @RickMace, @WithTheGrain, and @Bushido, you ensure that those specific people are notified about the post. This is a good way to keep each other in the loop and foster interaction between the group.
Hashtags (# phrases): Using specific hashtags like #DonJuan and others related to Carlos Castaneda’s work helps to create a common thread across your posts. When you and the others consistently use these hashtags, it makes it easier for others interested in the same topics to find your posts. Over time, this can attract more people to your group, effectively forming a small community around those topics.
Building a Community
If you and your fellow followers consistently use the same hashtags and engage with each other through mentions, you can organically build a community. Others who are interested in Carlos Castaneda and related subjects might start following those hashtags and joining in on your conversations. This way, you create a space for like-minded individuals to discuss and share content related to your shared interests.
Deciding on Hashtags
It might be a good idea to discuss and agree on a couple of specific hashtags that are both relevant and not overly broad, like #DonJuan or #CastanedaWisdom. Once you decide on those, consistently using them in your posts will help your community grow and stay connected.
This approach is a great way to cultivate a dedicated group of followers and create a shared space for discussion on Nostr!
Hi again, another fun thing that you might like if you are interested in US history is my daddy's autobiography. He was born in 1915 and his book is the story of his early life growing up in Montana. So, it's not so much about US history as it is the story of his early life and times.
You can find it here:

I wrote earlier that Descartes’s "I think, therefore I am." should better be "I think, therefore I am insane." Will, while I did say that kind of tongue in cheek, it really does point to how our 'idle' thinking is pretty pointless. A friend, where I work, said, "No, it's not 'pointless' all thinking creates who we are." So I'll concede that. And yet, over and over in religious and mystical teachings, there is the ideal of, don Juan's, from Carlos Castaneda's books, 'stopping the internal dialogue', as the way to connect with ... 'the spirit'?, 'God'?, don't ask me what that is. Yet, after years of 'intending' to stop that internal voice that we all have, I, as I mentioned before, one time did that. It was quite amazing and I can't easily describe it. It was like 'I' was no longer there.
So, take that as you will, but do know that it is possible to do that. It doesn't matter if it takes you one day or thirty years (as in my case... lol), it is possible. "What's the value of that?" you might ask. Don't ask me as I don't really know. But my sense of it is that it is part of our possibilities as humans and that we should commit to intending that 'inner silence'.
I'm going to try to add the first audio reading of my compilation of Castaneda's books. If I can't add it (I'm new here, as you might know) then go find it yourself at prismagems.com/castaneda
and the first of my reading it (recorded about 25 or so years ago) is at https://www.prismagems.com/castaneda/donjuan11.mp3%E2%80%A8%E2%80%A8#Castaneda #DonJuan #Nagual #ToltecWisdom #Shamanism #Consciousness #Mysticism #Mindfulness #religion
Carlos Castaneda
A comprehensive summary of the main points of Don Juan
Oh, so frustrated with Primal, I just opened Damus and am writing from that. Let’s see it if works here. So frustrated!
I hope this gets to 'thepurpose' and 'withthegrain' !
Boy, I'm feeling very stupid as I still haven't figured out even how to reply directly to post that I see to me. Even just now getting this window to open, two minutes ago, I don't remember what I did other than click around until this opened (well, when I wrote all of this other than this parenthesis, I then hit 'post' and got an error message so am just plan posting it now as a new note). So stupid of me.
But assuming that you guys get this, if I make new posts myself (at least I've figured that out) I'll keep adding hashtags, even though I don't know the purpose of those or what they do. So when thepurpose said "I propose we agree on a Castaneda/ Don Juan hashtag that we could concentrate the first few notes." I have no idea how 'we' work together to 'concentrate the first few notes." What does that mean? Sorry to be such a noob!! -Rick

Descartes said, "I think, therefore I am," but maybe he had it wrong. Perhaps it's more like, "I think therefore I am insane." 🤪 I certainly can't speak for others, but given the amount of time I spend in idle thinking, I thought that I'd make my first ever post here on that.
Still, and after 55 years of seeing Carlos Castaneda's don Juan's "turning off the internal dialogue" as a goal, I've done that only once. But that 'once' has me hopeful! #TongueInCheek #Mindfulness
