Going to scrub the board from my old Pinephone with alcohol and then toss it into a jar of silica for 48 hours. Hopefully I can bring it back to life and use it for testing before doing things on the one I use.

I always keep these little guys around if they decide to build their home in the lights. Keeps the bugs and moths in check and spiders don't bother you if you leave them alone.

thanks to a Fediverse friend I'll have another Pinephone soon. One that doesn't have a broken screen and water damage. One that will turn on.

If you use a firewall on Android and limit what apps can connect to mobile data and sync in the background, you'll realize you don't truely need large data packages. I originally realized this when daily driving the Pinephone and running mobile Linux. If I am not home with a wifi connection, 9 times out of 10 I am working and not using my phone. Now my phone plan is 1,000 voice minutes, unlimited messaging, unlimited data with 1gb high speed. Using the same T-Mobile network, so it shouldn't cause any issues. After a week it seems to fine. $10 per month.

Spoiler: Android is not "true freedom". If you want a truely open OS in your pocket, support a mobile Linux product or similar. Help create the demand for such a product and eventually, the supply will follow.
