AI & dev predictions for 2026 (because everyone loves predictions in Jan):
No.1 Code delivery is going exponential. GitHub activity charts will visually show parabolic move (assuming agent work still tagged as the owners). There’s going to be a divide between those that do vs those that don’t use AI as a tool and it’s going to get very apparent.
No.2 Ability architect / test / review (with AI assistance) will be paramount to cope with the PRs and catch “AI slop”. This includes growth in multi-agent frameworks.
No.3 Basic SaaS subscription solutions that are essentially CRUD operations on top of databases will loose (think Zendesk, Salesforce, etc. unless they pivot)
No.4 Big uptick on open source solutions. If everyone can rebuild an existing app using AI, why not open it for others. The mote is not the code. Great for Nostr and Bitcoin.
No.5 Extended on point 1, those that REALLY care and obsess over what is delivered for the end user will be the winners. Think shipping value vs shipping lines of code. Conversations will start over how these people perhaps will be rewarded differently from just regular salaries.
Closed source SaaS sites that are essentially CRUD UI operations on top of a DB charging a subscription are gonna die in 2026. The solutions that replace them might as well be open source.
Do we have any details on how they actually just flew in and captured Maduro? Where was he at the time?
I like his take. I agree it’s going to matter more and more about domain expertise, be able to understand the customer, and to know (and care) what a good outcome is!

Are there any butchers or farmers in the UK on Nostr?!
