Shipped a relatively bug free Nos to the App Store. Facilitated the pivot to Communities.

I used to think these were fairy tale only, but they do in fact exist in the wild. And no I did not pick them or even touch them. image

This morning the power went out and after it was restored they reported the cause as squirrel. 🤣

I’ve been at JFK for 30 minutes and I already want to go back to Europe. Airport planning is not a new thing. It does not need to be this hard

I wanted to go to xoxo fest as well, but chose #nostriga. Luckily an old friend is live posting the highlights. Proof the interoperability really works. View quoted note →

I unfortunately got sick, but not before I discovered some of the amazing things about Riga: 1. The public transit system is 💯! You never need to wait long. It’s clean. You can scan your card in multiple places so all the doors open and close! 2. The National Library is amazing! 5 floors of donated books plus incredible architecture and fascinating exhibits on the history of books, printing etc. Definitely worth a visit! 3. The food! I’ve mostly eaten vegetarian and it’s actually vegetables and not weird processed soy products! 3a. Everyone should adopt their style of cream cheese. 3b. Dark rye bread is the only rye. 3c. The carrot salad which looks like spiralized carrots is 😋! 3d. There is kombucha everywhere and it is very good!

Some inspiration for rethinking the social compute enabled experience: “How can we align our interests with what living organisms and systems naturally do? How can we yoke ourselves to what they’re doing so that our relationship is no longer exploitative, but rather one where we’re putting existing capabilities to productive ends? That might mean adapting how we work, how we think, and what we’re building. But I can guarantee that whatever comes out of that approach will be more fascinating, generative, and sustainable long-term than what we have now.” Particularly interested in new experiences that are non-exploitative. Living through Web 2.0 feels like surviving a slash and burn approach to co-existing with nature where there were some benefits but at such enormous costs.

Huge thanks to @Global Sports Central for their 2024 Olympic Coverage and partnership with nos.social. In addition to seeing some incredible Olympic highlights and behind the scenes stories we gained valuable insights about dedicated content relays. We’re excited to see where this heads in the future! 🎉

Brought my mom and niece to a pick your flower farm this weekend and we had the best time! Picking flowers and then making bouquets at home! The best part: the flowers are lasting much longer than pre-bought bouquets!

One of the things that is depressing about Generative AI and imagery is that the outputs all start to look the same - high gloss illustration/ animation-y. Today the only popular magazine cover that features art in the states is The New Yorker. Previously Life, Time and others often featured original art. This link features a set of prints from agricultural magazine covers of the previous century. The amazing thing is the wide diversity of art and styles and even mediums. We need AI to clean bathrooms not do art. #art
