Any Samourai users who had funds in their wallet...if you don't run your own node, and have been using their servers, the wallet might not work now. Great opportunity to get acquainted with Sparrow. PS when importing your seed, keep in mind that your Samourai password is actually a wallet passphrase in Sparrow.
For anyone wanting to gift on-chain sats to multiple people this season, a way to decrease your transaction fees is to batch the payment into a single transaction. Electrum, blue wallet, and especially Sparrow make this process straightforward. For Sparrow, when in the "send" tab, just click "+Add" on the right, and you can input the additional addresses and amounts in the new tab. If you were to gift sats to 5 people, with a fee rate of 150 sat/vbyte, sending to each of them with their own transaction would cost 21k sats per person...sending as a single batched transaction would cost 8k sats per person.
I don't listen to a lot of top 40 radio. Hearing some today, and amazed by the lack of original songs. Almost every song is a rehash/remix of another song from the past few decades.
some things you can do with any sats you might happen to have in WoS... (1) Send the sats to another lightning wallet...since WoS was the easiest (and most cucked) mobile lightning wallet available, there's gonna be a learning curve if WoS is the only lightning experience you've had. Breez and Muun are probably now the easiest mobile lightning wallets available. Muntiny can run as a webpage, a cool feature...make sure to keep that seed phrase safe though. The self-custodial lightning wallets will require either your node or a LSP's node operating in the background, and these are the most bulletproof options, with the greatlest amount of logistics required. Bitbanana (previously known as Zap), Zeus, and Blue Wallet are some mobile options here. (2) Send the sats to yourself on-chain. WoS will send on-chain txns as long as your balance is great enough (probably 10k sats of so). An interesting note is that in order to use WoS to receive on-chain, they charge a 0.5% fee (which is very uncommon for wallets to do and demonstrates that they held the keys the whole time). (3) Buy something with the sats...some options are Bitrefill, extending your VPN term, or swag from lightning.store. (4) Donate the sats to your favorite cause.
