Pecan trees had a banner year…then the hurricane came and they had another harvest from the high winds blowing so many more out of the trees. My friend’s horse farm has some of the very best, most tasty nuts, if you pick them up before the horses and squirrels get them.
While picking them up, you have to gently nudge horse noses out of your bucket before they eat all of your harvest. FSR the horses prefer the pecans you have put in the bucket, even though they are abundant on the ground around their barn. We could have picked way more, if we had stayed longer, there are so many on the ground.
