Udi promised OP_CAT in 2025. Anti-spam advocates are pushing for various soft forks, and others have even tried shipping a client for CTV. The reality is that #Bitcoin works so well that most of these ideas are dead on arrival. In my view, soft forks should be clean, elegant, and focused on improving or simplifying the protocol. SegWit is a good example of an idea that was valuable, yet implemented in a very ugly way. I’m rooting for consensus cleanup first, then CSIA, ideally alongside the removal of the SegWit discount.
