If we agree that removing spam filters means spammers will use the least damaging spam vector to store data, I agree that removing all spam filtering is the right approach. What if an attacker deliberately uses the most damaging spam vector? How would we counter this attack? All discussions I hear assume spammers use the least damaging vector for #bitcoin. I think this is illogical if a state-sponsored spam attack aims to damage bitcoin with unlimited funds.

A great discussion about what #Bitcoin is with nostr:nprofile1qythwumn8ghj7ct5d3shxtnwdaehgu3wd3skuep0qyt8wumn8ghj7ct4w35zumn0wd68yvfwvdhk6tcqyp60l3gucvq4pnmekm9nzmf6zh8nx24jngu0aj0tfp9tz4gad5v9v94ulq2 and Chris (I can't find him in Nostr unfortunately). I've read about the idea of having a #dex native on #nostr. Is someone working on it, any discussion going on? I would love to contribute. #asknostr

Curios why can't we solo mine directly to our own #Bitcoin node? I recall this was possible in old Satoshi's clients. It would be a cool feature to have, also a very useful one for the network itself.

A bit more technical explanation on how #Bitcoin #Mining works When searching for a block, the miner hashes the transactions along with other block data and modifies the nonce and block timestamp to generate different hash outputs. The hashing function used is SHA-256, which produces a 256-bit hash. The network difficulty (currently 119T) determines how small the hash must be in order to successfully mine a block. The formula is super simple: 2²⁵⁶ (SHA-256 produces a 256-bit output) divided by Network difficulty (119T)=1,190,000,000,000 So, the higher the network difficulty, the smaller the block hash must be to be considered valid. This explains why the number of leading zeros in the block hash increases as difficulty rises. For example, in binary: 0001 is smaller than 0100. The total number of possible SHA-256 hashes is 2²⁵⁶, which is such a huge number that finding a hash smaller than 2²⁵⁶ / 119T is practically impossible.

#Bitcoin is not digital gold. It's a P2P network enabling global value exchange without third-party approval. Bitcoin allows people to peacefully opt out of the fiat system, as revolutions aren't feasible today (government is too strong).
