"Freedom of speech is being able to tell someone else something they don't want to hear." "No matter what you say, someone is going to be offended." GM Nostr! Happy Monday! Saw a post yesterday that showed that there are only 2,000 or so BTC nodes operating in the US. And out of curiosity, I looked up on meshmap and saw there are about 1,500 #meshtastic nodes...(of course with far fewer users) What this says to me is that we need to have more people running BTC nodes! Seriously, it's neither hard, nor expensive. Grab a Raspberry Pi5, a 1TB SSD (min) and Umbrel and you're up and running...for about $125 or so. Oh--and you'll need a cup of coffee while you plug it in! That's it! #coffeechain

GM Nostr! Happy Sunday! Had a thought--why don't we implement "inverse" zaps in Nostr? So everyone is saying there's currently not a good way for developers to be paid for their efforts--what if everyone was required to expose a portion of their wallets for "inverse zaps" (say 10% or so?) and anyone with a worthwhile project could then unilaterally "withdraw" some of those zaps to cover their costs? The developers could then create products that could benefit everyone...after all, they would know what the best products would be, and we (as users) would be able to then directly support those efforts. If everyone was required to chip in their fair share, then we'd all benefit. Devs of course would only withdraw what they needed for each project., but I'm betting with such a guaranteed income, we'd all find that there would soon be a plethora of great projects coming our way. In the event we found there were more projects than current inverse zaps could support, we can simply increase the "inverse zap" required percentage for everyone. Seems like a win-win... (And before I get permanently muted, please recognize this is sarcasm, using inverse zaps as a metaphor for governmental taxation) Time for coffee... #coffeechain #asknostr
