What if you didn't need the network effect, to beat the network effect?

So I made a Nostr Rideshare Protocol, and two apps: Ridestr and Drivestr It relies on no company and no proprietary servers. All communication and synchronization is Nostr. All ride fares are calculated locally by your phone using routing map data delivered via blossom on first launch, and It uses the locally running android geocoder and or GrapheneOS geocoder for name to address search experience. Default payment method is Cashu over Bitcoin/Lightning, but I plan to expand with Nostr Wallet Connect options, as well as a pay in cash option (that drivers can filter out if they don't want to deal with it). Wallets are synced via NIP-60 nostr wallets for cashu. All other app profile features are synced cleanly with nostr. I will be open sourcing it of course when it's ready to launch. Android only so far, but I fully plan to make an IOS version if people like the idea. The cashu implementation has been buggy, so I'm working through the bugs on that one day at a time, but let me know if you wanna see it!

Testing a payment flow in my app has been brutal for my wallet lol. For same mint operations I set up a test cashu mint with test sats, and that was going great, but then I had to test multi-mint, so i just started testing with real funds on multiple mints because it was too much of a pain to set up another test mint. BOY OH BOY HAVE I LOST A LOT OF MONEY TODAY LOL. You're welcome @Minibits 😂

I really thought implementing Cashu would be easier, but maybe I should have just stuck a whole lightning node in my app lmao.

In building my app, I've had multiple normies who I show it to say "What percentage are you going to take?" When I tell them I don't plan to make a percentage off of it, they almost seem offended.

Is there anything better than hodl invoices these days for escrow? Something that doesnt require running lightning nodes in the app? Do @ZEUS and @Alby Hub support hodl invoices over NWC? Just wondering before making key design decisions. I know hodl invoices got a bad rep from some people for "clogging up channels" with timelocked sats
