Sometimes, if you walk slowly and keep the silence created by birdsong and insect wing, out of the corner of your eye, you may see the face of a fairy gnome watching from a flower.

Summer sweets. 🍦🍫 🍓
Getting to the point with my watercolor art that I can begin with a reference, then put it away and make what’s before me on the paper my own.
I remember this feeling/process from when I took oil painting lessons as a kid.

My sister sent my mom a bouquet from a local nursery for Mother’s Day. It’s an amazing mix of what you’d expect with wildflowers and things I didn’t know existed. Really special arrangement that my mom enjoyed tremendously. 💐

Finished the last Brambley Hedge puzzle, Winter Story. 1000 pieces, but so detailed you can pick up almost any piece and find where it goes. 🐭🧩

New month, so I added 500 steps to my daily walk, bringing the total to 7,500 steps/day, so about 3.3 miles/5.2 km.
And for some reason, it’s an interesting target to hit. I’ll go way over, then need a rest day because my right foot aches. I’m trying to even out this week and be less volatile. 🧡

Photographing my watercolor art, making it monochrome, then adding more layers until I get a better range of values (light -> dark).
Worked on the bottom little cabin boat. Images 1-3 show the value progression.
4 is the color version of Monochrome 1.
5 is the final color (Monochrome 3).

Once of the books I brought home from the art gallery is The Zen of Seeing, hand-written and illustrated by Frederick Franck.
It was published in 1973, before social media, in the same year the first mobile phone by Motorola was introduced.
