I've been using @GrapheneOS for year an a half now. After the coldlcard hack and after learning about randomness, I bought a 10 face dice and decided to update my phone pin to a 6 digit one, random created with my new dice. I trusted my memory to remember the new pin. Big mistake. Long story short, half an hour later I was blocked out of my phone...🙄 I discovered that I did not had a proper backup implemented and lost a few things. Had to reset the phone and install everything. In Graphene I had 3 profiles, one with google play services and a google account not linked to my identity, I lost that one also because I did not have the number to verify it (sms4sats one). I tried to create a new one. Impossible. Everything needs a phone number and sms4sats did not work because immediately after creating google asked to verify again (sms4sats only works for one SMS received). Now it is mandatory to use a phone with google play services to create an account or a phone number to verify it! Most of the banking apps do not work without being installed from google play store. Some other apps also. In a year and a half of my gOS experience the google account was locked behind KYC. Most of websites also do not work under a VPN. Developers have to KYC with google to have their apps available, users also need to KYC (phone number, IP, phone) to use those apps, the free internet is coming to an end and the normies don't even realize!! Only when someone tries to escape, encounters the invisible chains! On the plus side, now my backup is well implemented with redundancies. I learned about randomness and discovered that I do not really need some apps that want more data that necessary. On the negative side, things will get much worst to a point where it will be impossible to be online without being tracked. If you have some tips to keep using some normal apps that requires google, without a KYC google account, please share. @npub1andd...tj4q needs to create a new service where one can link a number to one account, and receive SMS for verification more than one time in different dates! At reasonable price (SMS received or something)
