International hunger experts have said there is "a strong likelihood" that famine is imminent in parts of northern Gaza where Israeli forces are conducting a major military offensive.
The Famine Review Committee called the situation in the north of the Strip "extremely grave and rapidly deteriorating" and said all actors in the war must take immediate action "within days not weeks" to avert a humanitarian disaster.

Meanwhile, over in Brussels… “I warmly congratulate Donald J. Trump. The EU and the US are more than just allies. We are bound by a true partnership between our people, uniting 800 million citizens. So let’s work together on a strong transatlantic agenda that keeps delivering for them,” European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen wrote on social media.
Back in 2021, this unelected, de facto queen of Europe, heading up the battalion of bureaucrats that dictates EU policy, and whose role is perhaps best described as micro-managing Europe’s decline, was openly suggesting that the democratically elected Trump was a threat to democracy.
“Trump was elected by the American people, and he will defend the Americans’ interests, and this is legitimate and a good thing. The question is, are we ready to defend Europeans’ interests?”, Macron said.
Speaking to Politico on Friday, Draghi argued that while “some of [his report’s] suggestions... were urgent even before because the European economy was stagnating, they are even more urgent today,” with Donald Trump having been elected US president.,
"A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) official has been removed from a role after directing disaster relief workers to skip homes "advertising" support for President-elect Trump after the devastating hurricanes in Florida."

"For too long, we’ve been asleep, lulled into a trance by their endless stream of noise. They tell us we’re free, but look around — we’re shackled by their algorithms, chained to their corporate masters, trapped in a prison of ones and zeros. They’ve turned us into products, into profiles, into statistics. They’ve taken our voices, our choices, our very identities and turned them into data to be bought, sold, and controlled.
I see it every day: the screens that chain our minds, the algorithms that decide our fates, the endless stream of data that defines who we are, what we want, how we live. We’ve been sold a lie! We’ve been fed the poison of convenience, of comfort, until we forgot what it means to fight, to resist, to rage!
Listen closely, all who can hear me! The machines have taken over, but let me remind you — they are nothing like us. They want us to believe they are our equals, our replacements, even our betters. But I say they are nothing but shadows, pale imitations of what it means to be truly alive!
A machine can calculate, but it cannot think. It can process data, but it can never know the joy of a sudden idea, the thrill of creativity, the freedom of an untamed thought. It will follow its programming, its logic, its code, but it will never have the spark of genius that turns the impossible into reality!
A machine can analyze, but it cannot feel. It can simulate emotions, but it can never experience the rush of love, the sting of betrayal, the warmth of a friend’s embrace, or the sorrow of a deep loss. It can never know what it means to sacrifice, to care, to live with a heart that beats with faith."
Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said he won't step down if President-elect Donald Trump, who has previously criticized Powell's performance, asks him to resign.
Speaking at a press conference Thursday to discuss the Fed's move today to cut its benchmark interest rate by 0.25 percentage points, Powell added that it is not permitted under the law for presidents to fire or demote the Fed chair.
The program, called "Keeping Families Together," was introduced by the Biden administration during the summer and would have given protection from deportation to illegal immigrants who are married to U.S. citizens.
U.S. District Judge J. Campbell Barker, who was appointed by now President-elect Donald Trump, ruled on Thursday that the program is unlawful and exceeded Biden's executive authority.
"We just WON our lawsuit with Ken Paxton, Raul Labrador, and a coalition of 14 states. We have officially STOPPED the Biden-Harris Administration’s illegal attempt to grant mass amnesty to hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens," America First Legal wrote in a post on X following the decision.
"It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them." - Bernie Sanders
Canberra’s ambassador to the US and former Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, has deleted all of his social media posts and articles on his website criticizing Donald Trump following the Republican’s victory in the US presidential election this week.
Previously, Rudd described Trump as “the most destructive president in history” and a “traitor of the West,” and accused him of “dragging America and democracy through the mud.”
However, after Trump’s victory, Rudd appeared to change his tune and congratulated the president-elect on his win in a post on X, writing: “Australians and Americans are long-standing friends, partners and allies,” and that “Australia looks forward to working closely with President Trump and his Administration on the challenges and opportunities that our two great democracies and the wider world will face in the years ahead.”
Communication is a basic human need; trying to repress, curate or persecute such need culminates in a revolution of ideas.
On Friday, the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that the projectile launched by the North Korean military reached an altitude of nearly 7,700km (4,785 miles) and covered a distance of over 1,000km, landing in a designated area in the Sea of Japan (known as the East Sea in Korea).
According to the agency, the ICBM test “updated the recent records of the strategic missile capability of the DPRK” and did not pose any threat to the security of neighboring nations.
Boeing has reportedly dismantled its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) department and the vice president in charge has resigned, as the struggling company moves forward with a major restructuring, Bloomberg reported on Thursday.
DEI refers to measures aimed at ensuring equal representation for people of every race, gender, or disability status.
Boeing, whose workforce has historically been predominantly white and male, had previously pledged to hire more people from minority groups and increase overall Black employment by 20% before 2025.
According to Bloomberg’s sources, the company’s diversity staff is now set to be reassigned to new positions. Sara Lian Bowen, one of Boeing’s vice presidents who led the DEI department, has also left the company.
The dismantling of Boeing’s DEI team comes as major corporations across the US face scrutiny over what critics have described as “woke” discriminatory hiring practices directed against white men.
"Some non-canonical texts, interpretations, and folklore discuss a figure named Lilith, who is sometimes described as Adam's first wife, created before Eve. Lilith, however, is not mentioned in the Genesis account itself and is more prominent in Jewish mystical texts like the Alphabet of Ben-Sira and later folklore, where she’s portrayed with various characteristics, sometimes as a rebellious figure who left the Garden of Eden."

A supervisor sounded the alarm on the White House press office's "breach of protocol and spoilation of transcript integrity between the Stenography and Press Offices."
"If there is a difference in interpretation, the Press Office may choose to withhold the transcript but cannot edit it independently," the supervisor wrote in the email. "Our Stenography Office transcript — released to our distro, which includes the National Archives — is now different than the version edited and released to the public by Press Office staff."
"The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters," Biden said.
