Neither my husband nor I grew up learning how to fix or build anything except for teeth. With the help of YouTube and helpful Lowe’s employees we are learning and getting things done 💪. It’s shocking how satisfying it is.

I think I just got the human equivalent of a cat bringing a dead bird to its person as a gift. We have an incredible Hawaiian handyman George who has lived in a tent on the beach for the last 9 years. He is a serious, guarded and surly guy who has not softened towards me in the 5 weeks he has been working for us despite my cooking for him, going out to buy snacks or treats he mentions, buying him a new cooler and filling it with ice every other day, and working alongside him daily, etc until TODAY…. He just left a joint with a note of thanks on my nightstand 😂😅

Someone close to me has her mood completely tied to the performance of her stock portfolio. She has had some giddy days in the past several months, but yesterday she couldn’t get out of bed with the market bleeding. Why would any tie their happiness to something they have zero control over?
