It's so insanely difficult to find a good mechanic (especially as a female). Well, I found an excellent mechanic 13ish years ago who didn't try to take advantage of my naivety (even though, I'm not naive, and can fumble my way around a car), and would explain things to me so I understood fully what was wrong with my car. I brought the Jetta for an inspection, and found out that my mechanic has cancer in his eye and a tumor on both eyes. He's not able to get chemo because of other issues, the medicine that he's going to need to take is going to completely mess with his immune system - he will not be able to safely leave his house for at least 6 weeks, except for his weekly treatments (which he has to travel 45 minutes/30 miles each was to). I'm devastated right now. He's the best around! He won't be able to work, spend time with his wife, kids or grandkids 😭 Send positive vibes to Carroll and his family 💜

Dessert last night. Banana Split style no bake cheesecake. 😋

Intended to spend a family afternoon by going to a local pick-your-own tulip farm. Ended up being pretty lame (like, 3 rows of tulips in someone's backyard lame). So, we changed plans and went to the World-Famous Horseshoe Curve. A train drove past - which was pretty awesome (I was waving like a little kid and the engineer blew the whistle 😂. Not gonna lie - it made my week 🚇) Peep the husband hat at the end of the video. If anyone ever comes to visit this treasure, hit us up!! (Let's see if I can share a photosphere.)
