So, in a moment of reckless optimism, I tried it — just left my butter out like some carefree influencer. Fast forward 20 minutes, and my kitchen looked like it’d been slimed by a melting butter sculpture. It wasn’t some dreamy “spreadable masterpiece” — it was a shimmering, oily puddle that looked eerily like the floor of my local pub after karaoke night. The butter didn’t even try to hold its shape. It just… surrendered. And let me tell you, cleaning up melted butter is a unique form of suffering. You go in with a paper towel, and the butter just spreads, smearing like it’s taking a final stand against kitchen hygiene. We have 2 beautiful, smart, whitty funny little boys. My wife desperately wanted more. A little girl to round out the family. I always said no because I didn’t think we could afford it. I worried about sacrificing too much to provide for another. I worried about schooling, I worried about travel, I worried about having an affordable and comfortable lifestyle for all of us. I had a fiat mindset, because I didn’t know any different. I didn’t realise there was a solution that would enable everything we wanted through hard work and time preference. Now, I fear we have left it too late to safely go after what we want due to age. Fiat robbed me and my family of something truly beautiful and I will never forgive or forget.
