GM When you walk to the farmer at 6.30 with your son to get fresh milk. Talk for an hour about freedom, fresh grass, cows and change of society over the past few decades are you in the right spot?

For the people who have not read the voorjaarsnota. The wealth tax is increased to 3%. If you’re saving you’ll lose 60% of your wealth in 30 years. This 2nd increase in a row was legitimized because the new unrealized capital gains tax (called “ law realized capital gains tax”) was postponed to 2028. From 2028 holding bitcoin (of which tax authorities know) in the Netherlands will not make any sense anymore. https://open.overheid.nl/documenten/910f6f86-c426-4f7a-8edf-b5771f9179c4/file

GM, yesterday evening my aunt, my moms sister 73 years old called me. She wanted more bitcoin. I once paid the meat she got for us in bitcoin a couple of years ago. She tracked the price in her muunwallet for the past years. But she was always skeptical and critical of my “extreme believe” as she named it. Her reaching out to buy bitcoin for her grandchildren feels like a major achievement for me. This year I’ve seen more and more “old” people become very skeptical about the euro and the future of their euro in the banks in general. If bitcoin also becomes boomer tech we are up for a major inflow. The current mainstream news, constant war pondering and European war bonds apparently help shift their minds towards this alternative. When looking at books sales we still see a constant daily sales of the Dutch translation of the bitcoin standard. Very clearly people are investigating at much larger scale than 2 years ago. I don’t know about you, but once you dive in, you don’t run back.

Japanese tv is so much fun. They are still coming to see the tulip bubble 🌷 🫧. I’ve decided to use a new standard answer: “Bitcoin is tulips, crypto is the bubble” image image

It’s 5 degrees Celsius outside and I’m heating our living room with bitcoin. It’s hashing to our @BitcoinBrabant DATUM @OCEAN pool. We’re reducing natural gas consumption radically. We’ve just ordered a new 30KWh battery pack to start smart steering with our 44 solar panels positioned on East (12 x 480) West (12 x 480) and south (20 x 320). We will monitor the upcoming year with fluctuations and looking forward reducing grid reliance as much as possible. We’ll even have an emergency switch for when the power on the grid is gone. All our systems are backed with multiple internet connections. Both 5G and Glassfiber (1.2GBit/s). We have starlink as a backup. We recently had to change our glassfiber ISP as we got serious issues with our TOR connections. We now paid off the 2 year contract and switched to Freedom internet as ISP. Best choice ever, we haven’t had any problems since. We’re on our way to sovereignty. image

What is the best Nostr desktop client for macOS, also ok if it’s browser based. But I can’t find anything that works smoothly… Damus, Snort, Nostter all the applications don’t really work, break or have so many issues… Is anything proper available?

Every Sunday it’s time to learn more about money. But this time I just felt like rereading “anatomy of the state” by Murray Rothbard. I’ve mentioned it once as my favorite piece in the @npub1h5m6...dtur podcast. This podcast has way too little followers btw.

If we don’t manage to decentralize mining (templates) before regulatory capture, who will control the “compliance” list?

Fiat payments are a pain. Can we incorporate shipping data in somekind of checkout way automatically. Like people use a Nostr plugin or Nostr login where it just shares the shipping data and pays. The single button Apple Pay feature sharing the shipping data automatically is quite simple, plus it automatically generates a private email address. We should have a bitcoin pay button that is able to do the exact same thing. View quoted note →

My wife gave me a new ice bath tub. My mother in law created a happy bitcoin birthday sign. Also got a perfect Sierra Leone silver coin from my birth year. My kid came walking in with it. Typical bitcoin bday 🙏 grateful for everyone around me supporting this adventure that is life.

X is really broken. It doesn’t matter if you look at “for you” “following” or even my noderunners select group. Only posts about some things happening in the US are constantly thrown in your face. Can’t wait to be able to set my own algorithm based on what I want to see. It’s very simple: WTF are people building to improve bitcoin.

Is X dying for real bitcoin content? Our company took off because of X in 2021/2022. So I’m very thankful that the app brought me where I am today. I’m afraid that it’s not going the right direction. We’ve build a lot of cool #bitcoin stuff and all of it is basically archived on X. I’m afraid to lose it all at some point. Is there a way to migrate the content that was once posted on X to Nostr? Willing to pay for it. View quoted note →
