GM, great news, the bitaxes have arrived. Now we wait for @Printer to steam up to print the cases. Next to that we’re shipping our first zodiac seedsafe. And of course we have the regular Dutch book orders and some signing devices going out. Enjoy your Monday!

We have been looking at faraday bags for over a year now. Anyone has advise on these? Not just for your phone, but also for your signing device. View quoted note →

For over 5 weeks I don’t have a blue checkmark on X anymore. The amount of views and likes of my posts has dropped significantly. If you don’t pay, you don’t matter apparently. I’m curious how this will work on #nostr. My latest posts don’t reach many it seems. Or I’m just sending out bad posts… don’t know what the cause is. I’m curious about future open source algorithms for Nostr. On X I created selections, so I just directly have the people I want to check out in different tabs. How far is this development in any client? I don’t seem to have found one yet. image

Today I visited the new location of Kontena. The Antwerp based mining container/HPC manufacturer. They currently have a lot of work on the HPC market. Super interesting to see what they have been building throughout the years. We are looking at many different manufacturers and options for different projects. Great to see how far the mining industry has come.

Packing 250 sealbag goodiebags for in the goodiebags with the family. Content, sealbag, SeedQR 12, 24 word thick paper. And a beautiful little card with explanation and discount code. We don’t really do discounts because the margins are basically zero and negative in bitcoin terms. Guess what a suitable bitcoiner discount would be? 🌷🔥⚡️ Come join our family @Adopting Bitcoin Arnhem. We’ll also test a new PoS solution by @Ton We accept bitcoin only and delete your data after shipment. @BitcoinBrabant

We're happy that some of you guys actually announce joining via DM. I understand if you don't like to RSVP via meetup. This is no problem. Also we now have more than enough space paying for the large venue. We are really looking forward to our first public workshop. View quoted note →

The past 2 years we were present at the local Pentecost fair with @BitcoinBrabant. This year we’re focusing full on @Adopting Bitcoin Arnhem. Which is basically kicking off with pizzas and the screening of @alana dirtycoin documentary on Wednesday. After the screening Janet of @gridless and I will be joining a group for a discussion on the documentary. On Friday In the morning I’ll be picking up John Galt from the airport, he’s doing some great proof of work on a new signing device. We’ll be building up the bitcoin mining workshop soon after the pickup. The workshop will also be recorded by Stijn and his team. After the mining workshop the bitdev will be held at the same venue. Looking forward to the Socratic seminar as always. On Saturday my parents will run the BitcoinBrabant shop at the entrance of the venue, we’re bringing a lot of stuff we sell via our webshop. @Blockstream jades, @Foundation passports, @SeedSigner, @Kanuto pins and art, our own SeedQR thick papers and thick words and off course some nice miners. Also we’re bringing one of our older bitcoin bazooka boxes. What is very special is that Mr Seedcircle from Sweden is flying in for this event. He’s spend a couple of years building a really cool backup design, he’ll also be present at our shop and we’ll start listing them from that moment. The Pentecost always costed me a lot of time and money, but I hope to have orange pilled a few of the 10k people that were visiting. This time I hope to be able to direct my energy into strengthening and building the bitcoiners buidl movement. Looking forward seeing you all there. 👇 Pentecost fair, seedcircle, Kanuto art and bitcoin bazooka.

I’m sad to announce we’ve halted shipping to the UK today. After packages being returned multiple times with multiple shippers without a clear reason. We will keep on shipping throughout the entire EU.

Happy Mother’s Day my love. You’re the sunshine for many. Learning to walk again in parallel with our son. Without you life would be empty and difficult. View quoted note → image

GM This is my original favorite topic at university. Breakwater design. The rock manual gives you all the different types of rock you can use. Your location gives you your impact for which you have to design. The question is, what are the extremes? You can calculate different extremes on different designs. The van der meer formulas (who also was the professor) you use are deterministic. They were created by trial and error in lab environments at the facilities in Delft. The theorists hated his guts, they wanted to come with theoretical frameworks while he just tested the variables at scales and implemented what actually worked across the globe. The university I was in was interesting. It was called UNESCO-IHE so it used to be an international sub department of the Delft University of Technology that was aiming to teach engineers from across the planet our water knowledge. Old professors and engineers from contractors/corporations taught the practicalities of water engineering in a broad sense. The original name wasn’t Institue for Hydraulic Engineering for nothing. To be able to apply as a Dutchman you needed to have 3 years of working experience in the specific field, bring a relatively large amount of money and make very clear why you wanted a specific specialization. My parents are from a poor upbringing and both worked their ass of as a teacher for sick children (mom) and a physiotherapist (dad) to give me this opportunity. During the study I found out that most students were not enrolled in engineering degrees but in, water law, water governance etc. Mostly funded by the Bill & Melinda gates foundation and the United Nations. The students were getting prepared to become the leaders of their countries. That’s at least what our lector told us at the start and end of our studies. But the strange thing is, who paid determines what happens right? Who are all these people in these positions having to pay back their studies to? From the start of the institute until today the focus shifted heavily from engineering to bureaucratic studies. And for my graduation project I doubted where I could have most impact. Because on the bureaucratic level the projects and money is divided, while at the engineering level you just engineer. I decided to do a simulation optimization study on the three gorges dam in China. And it was more engineering focused, while I got to see the political decision making that made the outcome obsolete. Rational decisions don’t take place when bureaucrats decide over engineers. I always hated this and understanding bitcoin changes everything. This is the first time bureaucracy doesn’t govern over the builders with their exploitation through printing and violence. Finally the era of properly engineered money has arrived. We’ll focus on building again, instead of the dystopian endless bureaucracy. We’ll educate a majority of engineers instead of a majority of bureacrats. The shift from majority focus of extraction of life energy will be beautiful as no force or counterfeiting will help them anymore. I can’t wait to be in the era of the engineers, the builders. I need to work harder to achieve our bitcoin future. Preferably rock solid and battle tested. image
