Toppeling the Government *Defenestrations Latin de (out of) & fenestra (window) year 1618 Prague was a melting pot of religious and political tension. In a time before organized voting or social media, throwing a leader out of a window was the ultimate "public comment." It was a highly symbolic, theatrical way of showing that the current authority was no longer recognized. image

❓❓💈💈❓❓ What would you do? You go to an upscale boutique barbershop, you’ve been there several times before, your appointment is with the owner of the shop, the top guy, the premium price. You show him a photo of exactly how you want your hair cut. Instead, he completely butchers it. It looks nothing like the picture. You get home, look in the mirror, & it’s bad. Really bad. So you go back and say, “Just buzz it. There’s no fixing this.“ He says he’s too busy & fully booked, tells you to come back next week…. or you can sit with another barber to clean it up. Fine. You sit with the second barber. He does his best and fix the terrible haircut. Then the owner tells you to pay again… because that second barber isn’t his employee, he’s an independent contractor. So now you’ve paid twice… premium pricing for the same bad haircut. You don’t want to cause a scene, the shop is packed & it’s not fair to the other customers, so you handle it privately. You text the owner & politely ask for a refund on the original cut. Instead of taking responsibility, he pushes back & insists the haircut was “executed perfectly.” So you send photos that clearly show otherwise. What would you do? p.s. I disputed the original credit card charge with the owner to cancel payment & now my son has the second worst haircut of his life. image
