Humanity needs a frontier. A place where freedom reigns by default, outside the purview of tyrants and beaurocrats alike. A place where malaise can not exist because it is lethal. A place that draws forth and amplifies the vitality of the human spirit. With the closing of the western frontier in late 19th century our civilization began a long process of self inflicted asphyxiation driven by entrenched powers and sociopaths leeching off the productive members of society thereby erecting a perverse incentive structure which catalyzes a negative feedback loop of value drain. Like a potted plant whose roots coil in on themselves ultimately choking itself from the source of its own nutrition, the west is quickly approaching the stage where systemic failure manifests. The only hope is a small crack in the pot created by the repeated pounding of bitcoin’s proof of work. If Bitcoin succeeds in shattering the walls of our confinement, the rootstock of humanity, the freedom loving people of the world can break free and growth can begin again.
