NIP-51 lists:
— Mute is now standard kind 10000 with NIP-44 encryption so they sync to other clients. Muted user profile shows "Posts are not viewable" + one-click unmute.
— Bookmarks (kind 10003)
— Pinned notes (kind 10001) on your profile.
NIP-89 handler discovery:
— Nosmero publishes its supported kinds so other clients route events here.
— Quoted articles / unknown kinds render an "Open in [client]" card.
And fixed a bug so a liked note now flips the heart to red instantly.

📦 IPFS media is now live on nosmero. Insert a CID into a post or "upload" to IPFS instead of the regular media attachment.
You can still insert media through the existing process but I added the IPFS option for those with a library of CIDs or if you want to create a shareable link of the file that can open in any browser through the nosmero IPFS gateway.
Each npub gets 500 MB of CID pinning (IPFS "uploads").
Click the 📦 in compose → pick a file → post.
You can manage what you've "uploaded" to IPFS under the new "IPFS Media" tab in the hamburger menu.
*Why IPFS? * Your media stays fetchable from any public gateway (dweb.link, ipfs.io, etc.), not just nosmero's gateway.

Updated Nosmero with an IndexedDB feed local cache that makes cold-start much faster when you login.
Nosmero is a pure-relay client so when you first login it has to refetch your follow list, profiles, and recent notes from scratch. It can be many seconds of waiting before your feed appears.
Now nosmero caches up to 10,000 events on your machine per npub. So when you login next time your feed renders before any relay round-trip. Then a background refresh merges fresh data and re-renders with changes.
All cached data is public Nostr content, scoped to your npub and never sent anywhere. No third-party indexer, no privacy tradeoff — just a faster login.

1. EXIF/metadata strip on image uploads (redeployed)
2. Auto p-tag generation — paste npub in compose window and the mention auto-add ["p", "<hex>"] tags so notifications work
3. @ button in compose toolbar — mirrors the link-button pattern (highlight text → click @ → paste npub → produces markdown link)
4. Compose Preview uses parseContent — @username chips render in preview, matching what feeds will show
5. Lazy mention resolve — MutationObserver watches all renders; truncated @npub1… chips upgrade to @username once the kind-0 lands

Fixed issue where media wasn't displaying correctly in notes.

What's cool about p2p solutions like Swarmnero is the ability to share files of any size without server hosting concerns. Files are sent from your machine directly to the follower's machine.
To protect follower's bandwidth, though, it gives a notice that author's post media is >25MB so can opt in to downloading to your feed. There is a thumbnail preview and fie size to help you make the decision.

I'm still alive, but nosmero seems pretty stable at this point, with the features I use, and no bug issues. So there has not been a reason to code. I haven't received any feedback recently about bugs.

I took a nice little vacation, but I am ready to tackle an issue I discovered. Older tip jars will time out during sync. I had sketched out the issue before I left and hope to have that worked out by the end of the weekend.

-made a ton of backend changes to nosmero and cleaned up almost the entire the codebase over the past week. Nosmero users will probably not notice much, perhaps a slightly faster response on some things
-squashed a couple of bugs that you might have noticed before but which weren't necessarily breaking anything, i.e. there are now USD equivalents displayed next to monero amounts for all tip options
-reminder to update your default tip amounts, the bull run XMR has been in means to do ~5 cent USD tip it needs to be ~0.00011

-refreshed the UI of the site
-added a Web of Trust Feed which pulls notes from your extended network. It shows notes from people followed by people you follow. Hopefully it is a helpful way to find interesting content and new people to follow within your trust network. The feed randomly samples from your network each time you visit, so you always see fresh content.
