Ist das schon die Vorbereitung für den Volkssturm? Die damaligen Soldaten der NVA sind heute über 50 Jahre alt. Damals wollte man sie nicht, stellte ihre Treue zur BRD infrage. Wäre ich damals ein NVA Soldat gewesen, wüsste ich heute eine adäquate Antwort.

Frage: Macht es Sinn, nachträglich, den Kriegsdienst zu verweigern? Oder warte ich auf den Einberufungsbefehl und verstecke mich dann vor den Greifkommandos?
I don’t know who Aunt Ida was or to whom she gave this book as a gift. It was Christmas 1940, and Germany was at war. The drums of war were beating. Young boys abandoned their favorite toys to become soldiers, with five long years of conflict ahead. For what? If only this book could speak, what stories of that fateful time might it tell?
