Remember, when you buy bitcoins you don’t invest. Investing comes with a risk, and that’s what you do when you invest in a company (buy stocks). When you trade your energy to buy bitcoins you store your energy into a network that keeps it for eternity. It can be transferred across time and space. The only risk is that the network fails, or that the network becomes obsolete. But that risk (in my humble opinion) is infinte times lower than the risk you have storing your energy in EUR;USD;TRY;JPY… in which you have a high probability that your energy gets diluted via monetary inflation So when you work and store your energy in these currencies you don’t say that you are “investing”. Is the same concept. What’s going on in #nostr these days my #pleb warriors?

https://semisol.dev/ordinals/ Ordinals and inscriptions are considered an attack on bitcoin. Especially if “illegal” material is stored in your node. Also for spamming and storage reasons. In my opinion there are different aspects here: 1) From an economic perspective, if this is permitted with the current set of rules the market alone will push away those incentives when it becomes too expensive to do bullshit 2) Nodes can choose not to broadcast those type of tx’s to the mempool, but it is unlikely that all nodes will do that 3) For storage and/or legal reasons nodes can choose to download and store only the financial tx’s. 4) I am unsure what are the implications for miners building blocks with all this data. I’ve read somewhere about a milliseconds delay that can cause miners to loose revenue. Any thoughts?

Can anyone explain me BRC-20 tokens and inscriptions like if I was 12? Yes, Satoshi’s vision of Bitcoin is p2p electronic cash, and that will be unchanged, especially via the use of lightning. But this sort of digital contracts deployed on bitcoin can be a revolution, as bitcoin is the only true decentralized tool for the people, so these carry no counterparty risk if well written. I hope to be surprised of the use cases this could open up. What do you think, plebs?
