What is it with the need to remake classic or cult films?
Other than money, why do they think they can make a better version, I can't think of any remakes that are better than the original, there are probably some, but not many.
A new version of the 'The Crow' has been made and without watching it I can tell it'll be shit and not as good as the original. One reason is the soundtrack of the original, that was an epic soundtrack and worked with the film so well.

Film, movies have always been an important part of my life, an escape, a look into other worlds.
But I've realised today, after a little research, how important the years 1986-1988 were. For me they are the best years in film. My humour, language, views on culture, relationships, mental health and many other things, stem a great deal from my love of films from this time.
As a boy at the time my mum took me to films I still watch and have introduced to my kids. Short Circuit, Labyrinth, An American Tale, Three Amigos, Harry and the Hendersons, Innerspace, The Princess Bride, *Batteries Not Included, Beetlejuice, Willow, Big, to name a few classics. It was a really positive and formative experience in a world of chaos and fear outside.
As a teenager I came across many other films I love, and many came from these three years. Highlander, Top Gun, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Big Trouble in Little China, Aliens, Platoon, Lethal Weapon, Predator, The Lost Boys, Red Heat, Coming to America, Die Hard, Young Guns.
For me this was the best period of film making, but what other years do others love?

Buy an old dictionary.
A dictionary is like a history book for words and in these days where so many fear the written or spoken word, a record of what words actually mean.
So go out and buy an old dictionary, a big 80's or 90's edition from a second hand or charity store, it'll cost a few bucks.
Use it, read it (you may learn a few new, fun words) or just put it behind your livestream to look more intellectual, but have it.

A friend of mine, here in Aus, has been relentlessly shitposting on UK copshops, the home office, politicians and others accounts over what is occurring there.
Today he's started receiving multiple phone calls from a London number. He thinks it's hilarious.

The Australian media is shilling the government's latest attempt at a digital ID, labelled as "Trust Exchange".
Its funny how governments label things in reverse of what they actually do. Marketed today as a way to keep your data out of the hands of businesses, like hotels and clubs, that might get hacked.
