Turns out all of us trusted and none of us verified, me included, but I’m retarded and never pretended I could verify anything. I almost lost all my bitcoin.
Since 2021, any of us could have and should have found this. However, this is more damning for some than it is for others. Especially all of the influencers who were shilling for and sponsored by coinkite. Turns out they trusted and verified the least.
The Bitcoin community has long repeated “don’t trust, verify” and “open source means anyone can audit it.” In practice, very few people actually do the hard, unglamorous work of deep code review.
Most people end up trusting the reputation, the marketing, the open-source badge, and the fact that “smart people must have looked at it.”

On the left side of the bell curve. Just a guy being a dude. Not a bot. Few understand.
What is the use case for bitchat? #asknostr
If you’re close enough to someone to connect to their Bluetooth, you’re close enough to talk to them irl. Unless you’re trying to talk shit about someone you’re around and you don’t want them to hear, but then you could just text instead of using bitchat. So you would need to be talking shit about someone you’re around while also not having any internet or data service, and only access to Bluetooth.
So basically it’s for talking shit about people while you’re camping?
Hypothetically speaking, say a bitcoiner had to move all of their Bitcoin from one cold storage wallet to another. How would you do that? Hypothetically speaking, of course… #asknostr Say that this bitcoiner has a mix of KYC and non-KYC utxo’s all under the control of one wallet.
Yo I thought steak ‘n shake was some west coast liberal hippy shit, but turns out they’re super based and I got one about 10 miles from me. Their website has the bitcoin logo, fuck yeah, bout to patronize these mofos. #steaknshake

What is the bitcoiner approved alternative to MS teams? Looking for real time text chat, file sharing, email/calendar integration, and video calls with screen sharing. FOSS would be preferable, but willing to pay for a good product, say, if Proton offered such an experience. #asknostr
