I filmed Alexandra Hill Tinoco, Minister of Foreign Affairs for El Salvador, in Feb 2024. She broke down the lure of illegal immigration very succinctly and it doesn’t make any country better. This is a moment in history where massive shifts are taking place, countries can indeed rise up together. President @nayibbukele has been setting new standards for his country & his people since 2019 despite massive opposition. A demonstration that we must pay attention to outcome not narrative.

I see my next feature film. Writing it in my head, daily. All I need is funding. 🙏

Voting can be simple. 24 hr process with domestic and international observers making sure every Citizen is identified and taking separate record as the votes are tallied and recorded. If a person is not able to make it to a voting location; there are reasons. El Salvador’s voting process was so transparent and clean. International observers, the Tribunal, Press & party affiliates were present from beginning to very end. Make Voting Simple Again!

A visual that has repeated throughout all my films is the follow shot. As I make films that represent, without personal opinion, the individuals who let me capture them, follow them; I like to visually demonstrate this with the often repetitive follow shot from behind the main characters. With “Forging A Country” the main visual that I knew I wanted but didn’t know if possible was following President Bukele from car to balcony for his acceptance speech. Tiger @tigerjvideo whom I hired to film with me heard me repetitively speak of this imagined shot. When the opportunity came to capture it, Tiger jumped into action. This is a cut of that shot.
