Bitcoin journey so far, if it helps anyone else out there:
Started in 2020 like millions of normies when the pandemic hit. Went through the shitcoin phase, tried futures, longs, shorts, felt clever. Bought a Ledger. Then a Coldcard. Hammered words on steel washers…
Made plenty of mistakes. Learned from tutorials, from X threads, and now exclusively here on Nostr.
I'm the type of guy who likes to try new things, jump in, figure it out along the way. My funds were never stolen, but honestly that's not skill, that's Nostr. I caught the warnings early enough, moved fast, and got my stack to a hot wallet before it was too late.
Now? I'm stuck in limbo. I hold my keys but I don't sleep easy.
Some Bitcoiners are outright bad actors. Others know maybe 10% more than me. Who do I listen to? The space keeps evolving. I just figured out my Coldcard setup, and now I need another device. Will it be safe? Who knows.
Next time around I'll be rolling actual dice to generate my own seed because trusting these devices to do it for me feels like handing your fate to a black box. So I'll roll the dice and hope some random sociopath with an AI won't outsmart whatever entropy a handful of plastic cubes can give me.
I guess it still beats keeping fiat in a bank.
