NOSTR is raw. It is a protocol designed for developers and geeks who have never dealt with the User Experience. When a system tells you "experiment, study, try to change relay, try to configure the WOT" to use it, it means that the product is not yet ready for the general public.

The wind does not worry about where it will blow next. It simply moves the leaves, brushes against faces, changes direction. The "freedom" of Nostr - the one sold as absence of censorship, as transparent Web of Trust, as meritocracy of zaps - has turned out to be what it is: a distorted illusion, well packaged, with a lot of early adopters ready to make you feel part of the club as long as you serve, and to let you fall when you are no longer useful.

The WOT on Nostr did not fail because it was attacked, but because it never took off as a solid infrastructure: it remained a vague concept, poorly implemented and in a fragmented way, which creates more problems (isolation, loss of followers, inconsistent experiences) than it solves.

The "client hopping" syndrome on Nostr is now a classic: you wake up in the morning and find that three new clients popped up while you were sleeping. It's like mushrooms after the rain, but in a tech version. 🍄
