From the Gospel according to Luke (Lk 12:39-48)
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
"Be sure of this: if the master of the house had known the hour when the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into.
You also must be prepared, for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come."
Then Peter said, "Lord, is this parable meant for us or for everyone?"
And the Lord replied, "Who, then, is the faithful and prudent steward whom the master will put in charge of his servants to distribute the food allowance at the proper time?
Blessed is that servant whom his master on arrival finds doing so.
Truly, I say to you, he will put him in charge of all his property.
But if that servant says to himself, 'My master is delayed in coming,' and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, to eat and drink and get drunk,
then that servant's master will come on an day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will punish him severely and assign him a place with the unfaithful.
That servant who knew his master's will but did not make preparations nor act in accord with his will shall be beaten severely;
and the servant who was ignorant of his master's will but acted in a way deserving of a severe beating shall be beaten only lightly.
Much will be required of the person entrusted with much, and still more will be demanded of the person entrusted with more."
🙏🏼 Reflection on the Gospel of the Day 🕊️
Today's Gospel amplifies the theme of vigilance, transforming it from a passive waiting to an active responsibility. Through the parable of the wise steward, Jesus reminds us that faith is not just a possession, but a task to be managed.
Peter's question ("Is this parable meant for us or for everyone?") reveals a crucial truth: this teaching is particularly directed at those who, having known the Lord, have a greater responsibility to bear witness to Him.
The final statement "Much will be required of the person entrusted with much" is not a threat, but a call to coherence. God has given us faith, His Word, and His Grace; our task is to make them bear fruit in daily life, in love for our neighbor, and in justice.

Tuesday of the 29th Week in Ordinary Time
From the Gospel according to Luke (Lk 12:35-38)
At that time, Jesus said to his disciples:
"Be ready, with your loins girded and your lamps lit; be like servants who await their master's return from a wedding, so that when he arrives and knocks, they may open immediately for him.
Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.
And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants!
🙏🏼Reflection on the Gospel of the day🕊️
There are many reasons in life that have kept us from sleeping. An exam to take, a child's trip, the day before the wedding... etc. Whatever the reason, there is one aspect common to all. If we were afraid of failing, or desired reassurance about someone's condition, or felt joy for the upcoming celebration of an event, the reason is that we gave importance to that moment above anything else. This is how Jesus wants our relationship with Him to be. He wants us not to be overwhelmed by the many things we experience, just like those who let themselves be dominated by tiredness and sleep. Jesus wants us to be watchful, able to fight, just like a sentinel, against the natural tiredness that the frenzy of life sometimes brings us, against the darkness of the night that obscures the meaning of the choices we have made, or allows passions to overwhelm and dominate the light of reason. Those who watch await the Lord and know that every moment, even in the deepest night, can be the right one to show Him their love, their desire to meet Him as the most important moment of their entire existence.
