So #ElonMusk is finally seriously moving forward with his plan to transform #Twitter into the #X everything app by announcing that every user will have to pay a small monthly fee supposedly to combat bots. We know the goal is to #KYC every user by linking their financial info. It’s going to be interesting to observe to which degree users will be willing to comply. We may see a massive influx of new users to #Nostr.

One thing I’ve noticed when offering #goldbacks is that they leave no one indifferent. People reactions range between suspicion and ecstasy but often strongly lean towards one or the other side of the spectrum. - suspicion: people barely want to touch the #goldback or even look at the it. They think you’re trying to scam them. They see the note as nothing more than a piece of plastic whereas they much prefer receiving a piece of paper. - ecstasy: people have no idea what it is or how much it is worth but they are in love with the apparence of the shinny note. It’s almost like they just won a Willy Wonka golden ticket. Receiving a goldback made their day. In my experience, 20% lean towards being suspicious and the remaining 80% lean towards being ecstatic. #Gold #Money #Currency

One thing I really like about #goldbacks is that the government doesn’t have the power to deprecate a #goldback note as they can do with a USD note (as the Indian government did not too long ago). If the US government says that tomorrow $100 bills are now worth $0, everybody will stop accepting $100 bills. No one can claim that a goldback note is $0 because the notes will still contain the #gold and will remain fungible with other goldback notes. #Money #Fiat #Gold #Currency
