This latest "narrative" from Trump's circle about "buying" Greenland or even having Canada "join" the US... I want to think most people promoting it, first of all Trump and Trump Jr, are doing it for the LOLs and to cause righteous indignation among the pearl-clutchers. Because I have never heard anything more completely delusional and retarded, and the amount of retardedness plaguing the rank and file of the MAGA movement is not precisely short. For so many reasons, from the practical and political impossibility of "buying" a territory in the 21st century, to the fact that it's a barren dead rock with no natural resources of any type and unable to sustain any population, it is quite difficult to be more retarded than that. Even if the touted "rare mineral deposits" exist, those would only add to the impossibility -- why would they give away independence (assuming they even decide to materialize the self-determination right that Denmark gave them, and become a sovereign state to begin with), when they can simply mine, or give concessions to foreign companies to mine (and profiting massively from the bids)? The Canada thing doesn't even merit comment. I think this is simply a crudely made up distraction from the whole HB1/immigration fiasco of the past couple of weeks.

Juan Ramón Rallo, one of maybe two or three actual Libertarian scholars in the Spanish-speaking world, offers an English version of his YT videos. All of you non-Spanish speakers who are interested about Argentina's progress out of Socialism towards Freedom under Javier Milei's mandate, can finally become factually and thoroughly informed. I mention this not so much as a counter measure against the sheer amount of Left-wing Socialist propaganda that tries to distort the truth about Milei, but especially about the Right-wing Socialist one. In short, Milei is no Trump, and their policies and convictions have nothing to do with each other. None of this means that I don't think that Trump is what the US needs now, as I think Milei is what Argentina needs (needed 50 years ago already, really). Everything has a context. But let's not confuse things.

Belated Merry Christmas to all -- In case you wondered, I've been knocked out for almost two weeks now, with some sort of nasty throat-nose bug that gave me high fever. So I spent the two or three days before and after the 25th in bed, basically. I didn't go to the doctor until a couple days ago, and it was just to confirm what I knew - something viral in nature, as opposed to bacterial, so just patience and something to keep the fever in check. What I found funny that I want to share here is how it went at the clinic: nobody was wearing masks -- personnel included --, nobody stuck anything up my nose, no mention of any certain "coronavirus" or questions about being or not "vaccinated"... Ain't that funny? How things change... For reference, in this stupid fucking country, up until just one year ago, the mask was mandatory in any sort of even remotely "health center" -- including pharmacies and veterinary clinics. So yeah, we've come a looong way...
