In the mountainous Cordillera region of Northern Luzon, you still find traditional stilt houses like this.These dwellings are intentionally elevated on sturdy wooden posts to create an open space underneath. This lower area serves multiple practical purposes: it acts as a storage area for harvested crops, firewood, and farming tools, while also functioning as a shaded, open-air communal space where family members and the local community can gather to socialize.
